What this part is

A single-row angular contact ball bearing in the metric 7200 series, 65 mm bore × 120 mm outside diameter × 23 mm width, open construction with no seals or shields. A 15° contact angle sits at the low end of the angular contact range. The shallower the angle, the more of the load path runs radially and the less axial load the bearing will take — but the shallower angle also means less internal friction and a higher speed capability than a 25° or 40° bearing of the same size. Fifteen degrees is the machine-tool spindle choice: high speed, high stiffness under mostly radial load, modest one-way thrust. If your application is thrust-dominant, a 40° bearing in the same envelope is the better fit, not this one.

Fitting notes

Angular contact bearings have one high shoulder and one low shoulder on each ring; the bearing must go in facing the correct way or it will carry thrust in the wrong direction and fail quickly. Press only on the ring being fitted — never drive load through the balls. Open bearings ship with a preservative, not a service grease, so lubricate to the machine builder’s specification before running.
