Condition: New – Open box
Condition Note: New old stock, open box

Availability:

1 in stock

Single-row angular contact ball bearing for a 65 mm shaft in a 120 mm housing bore, 23 mm wide, open (no seals or shields). Takes combined radial and one-direction axial load, so it must be mounted against an opposing bearing or a second unit face to face or back to back. For machine tool spindles, gearboxes, pumps and other assemblies where thrust is carried in a single direction.

Product Description

What this part is

A single-row angular contact ball bearing in the metric 7200 series, 65 mm bore × 120 mm outside diameter × 23 mm width, open construction with no seals or shields. Angular contact ball bearings carry radial load and axial load acting in one direction only. The raceways are offset, so the bearing is not self-contained axially — it has to be mounted against something that takes the thrust the other way, either a second angular contact bearing or a shoulder plus an opposed bearing elsewhere on the shaft.

Decoding the designation

7213 – ISO base number for the single-row angular contact ball bearing with the 65 × 120 × 23 mm envelope.
C – in SKF’s own published designation system for angular contact ball bearings, the C suffix denotes a 15° nominal contact angle.
CTC / C78 / G1 – legacy SKF US suffixes of the type carried over from the MRC bearing line. These are not present in the current published SKF catalogue and no manufacturer definition could be found for them, so no preload, tolerance or clearance value is claimed here on their behalf. They are retained above as carton markings and search terms only.

Correcting the source data

The previous title gave the outside diameter as 130 mm. The ISO 7213 envelope is 65 × 120 × 23 mm; 130 mm is the outside diameter of the next size up, the 7215. The title has been corrected to 120 mm.

What these specs mean in practice

A 15° contact angle sits at the low end of the angular contact range. The shallower the angle, the more of the load path runs radially and the less axial load the bearing will take — but the shallower angle also means less internal friction and a higher speed capability than a 25° or 40° bearing of the same size. Fifteen degrees is the machine-tool spindle choice: high speed, high stiffness under mostly radial load, modest one-way thrust. If your application is thrust-dominant, a 40° bearing in the same envelope is the better fit, not this one.

Published ratings and mounting data

Basic dynamic and static load ratings, limiting speed and cage material are deliberately left blank. Because the CTC / C78 / G1 suffix combination is not in the published SKF catalogue, the internal design and cage of this specific variant cannot be confirmed, and borrowing the ratings of a current-catalogue 7213 variant would risk publishing numbers that do not apply to the bearing in the box. Bore, outside diameter, width and contact angle are the specs stated here with confidence.

Quantity and configuration

One bearing. This is a single bearing, not a matched pair or a preloaded set. If the design calls for a duplex mounting, two units matched by the manufacturer for preload are required and this single piece will not substitute.

Fitting notes

Angular contact bearings have one high shoulder and one low shoulder on each ring; the bearing must go in facing the correct way or it will carry thrust in the wrong direction and fail quickly. Press only on the ring being fitted — never drive load through the balls. Open bearings ship with a preservative, not a service grease, so lubricate to the machine builder’s specification before running.

Interchange guidance

The 7213 base number is common across manufacturers, so any 7213 in the same envelope will fit dimensionally. Contact angle, cage and precision class are what differ between them, and those are what determine whether the substitute behaves the same. MRC bearing designations were absorbed into SKF after SKF’s acquisition of the MRC line, which is where these legacy US suffixes come from.
