Decoding the designation

7005 identifies an angular contact ball bearing in the ISO 70 light series with a 25 mm bore. C sets a 15° contact angle in the RHP scheme. T denotes a phenolic cage. Universal grinding allows assembly back-to-back, face-to-face or in tandem. A back-to-back or face-to-face arrangement locates the shaft axially in both directions and develops the built-in light preload as the rings are clamped; tandem mounting shares thrust in one direction only. A single row alone takes thrust in one direction. The set is matched and stays together as supplied.

Interchange guidance

A substitution needs the same 15° angle, the same light preload and the same P4 or EP7 class. A 7005 with a 25° angle, a different preload letter or a lower precision class shares the 25 x 47 x 12 mm envelope but is a related size rather than an equivalent.
