NTN 4T-42350 tapered roller bearing cone — the inner ring with its tapered roller and cage assembly, single row, inch series. Cone only. The matching cup is the 42584.
42350 is the inch-series cone number; the mating cup carries its own number in the same family. The 4T prefix is an NTN material and design designation covering case-carburised high-grade bearing steel, applied to the part rather than identifying a different component.
Bore 3.5000 in (88.900 mm), straight bore, single row. A tapered roller geometry carries heavy radial load together with thrust in one direction, the split depending on the raceway angle. Two rows mounted opposed take thrust both ways and allow the running clearance to be set on assembly.
1 Pc. Cone assembly — inner ring, rollers and cage as one non-separable unit. No cup.
The cone bore mounts on the shaft journal; the cup is pressed into the housing separately. The two halves are brought together as the assembly closes up, and endplay or preload is set by axial adjustment against the cup. Cone and cup raceway angles are matched within the published pairing.
The 42350 cone number is common across inch-series makers, so Timken, Koyo and SKF 42350 cones share the same envelope and raceway geometry. A cup number from the family, such as the 42584, is the other half of the assembly rather than an interchange for this part.
