A double-row spherical roller bearing, 100 mm bore x 180 mm OD x 46 mm wide, with a 1:12 tapered bore, a machined brass cage, C3 internal clearance and a W33 lubrication groove with three radial feed holes in the outer ring. Spherical rollers are the workhorse of heavy, misaligning applications: crushers, screens, conveyor pulleys, fans, mill and kiln drives, and any long shaft where the two housings will never be perfectly in line.

The two rows of barrel rollers run on a common spherical outer raceway, so the bearing accommodates static and dynamic shaft misalignment without loading the raceways in a line. Being double row, it takes thrust in both directions as well as very high radial load. C3 clearance runs looser than normal at rest, which is what you want where the inner ring will grow relative to the outer — hot shafts, heavy interference fits, or a tapered bore driven up hard onto a sleeve, since driving the bearing further up the taper progressively reduces the running clearance. The machined brass cage handles higher speeds, shock and higher temperatures than a pressed steel cage, and changes the load rating relative to a CC-cage version of the same number. W33 lets you feed grease or oil directly to the rollers from the housing rather than relying on what was packed in at assembly.

One bearing. The adapter sleeve is not included. A 22220K normally mounts on an H320 adapter sleeve, which seats it on a 90 mm plain shaft; the sleeve, its lock nut and lock washer are separate items. If the shaft is already machined with a 1:12 taper the bearing can be driven straight onto it and no sleeve is needed.
On a tapered bore the drive-up distance sets the internal clearance, and internal clearance is what determines whether the bearing survives. Measure the unmounted radial clearance before fitting, then drive up until the specified clearance reduction is achieved — do not fit by feel or by lock nut torque alone. Line up the W33 holes with the housing lubrication port. Heat the bearing rather than hammering it, keep the assembly clean, and confirm the housing bore allows the outer ring to sit square so the self-aligning function is actually available.
Equivalent parts are 22220K spherical roller bearings with a brass cage, C3 clearance and W33 grooving from other makers — for example 22220-K-MB-C3-W33 in the FAG scheme, 22220CAKW33/C3 in the SKF scheme and 22220CAMKE4C3 in the NSK scheme (NSK E4 = W33). Related but NOT interchangeable: a straight-bore 22220 (no K) needs no sleeve and mounts differently; a CC pressed-steel-cage version carries a different rating; and a normal-clearance (CN) or C4 version changes the mounted clearance. The cage code and clearance are not cosmetic.
