This is an SKF 7314 B single-row angular contact ball bearing with a 70 mm bore, 150 mm outside diameter and 35 mm width, open on both faces. It is a heavy-series bearing built to take a high thrust load in one direction together with a radial load.
The 73 series prefix places the bearing in the ISO heavy dimension series, and the 14 bore code gives 70 mm. In SKF’s scheme the B suffix specifies a 40° contact angle. There is no clearance suffix, so radial internal clearance is normal, CN.
A 40° contact angle is the high-thrust end of the angular contact range. It carries substantially more axial load in its loaded direction than a 15° or 25° bearing of the same envelope, at the cost of speed capability and of a higher sensitivity to misalignment. The heavy 73 series adds ball size and ring section over the 72 series at the same bore, raising both radial and axial capacity. A single row takes thrust in one direction only, so locating a shaft in both directions needs a second bearing opposed to this one.
Single bearing, 1 Pc. Straight bore, mounting directly onto a cylindrical shaft seat.
The rings have a distinct wide face and narrow face, and the direction they are fitted determines which way the bearing takes thrust. Mounting force is applied through the ring being fitted rather than transmitted across the balls, and an interference fit on the inner ring is normally made by even heating.
Same-spec equivalents at 40° are FAG 7314-B-XL-MP, NSK 7314B and NTN 7314B, all 70 x 150 x 35 mm single-row angular contact. A 7314 ACD or 7314 CD shares the envelope at 25° and 15° respectively, and a 7214 B is the lighter 72 series at the same bore; those are related sizes rather than substitutions.
