Order-number notes: 6SN1145 = internal/hose cooling designation, 6SN1146 = external cooling; this part flagged INT./EXT.; final digit is the hardware version index (-0AA0 to -0AA1 to -0AA2). Siemens does not publish a field-by-field order-code scheme for this family, and the trailing letter group is inconsistent between UI and I/R modules, so no reliable decode exists. NOT PUBLISHED: rated DC-link output current, per-unit power losses, Siemens end-of-delivery / spare-parts dates. REJECTED DISTRIBUTOR CLAIMS: "regenerative: yes" (false — this is unregulated), 0–45 °C ambient, 4.02 kg weight, "50 A" rating. Nameplate confirms Made in Germany, CE and UL marks, version F. This is a SIMODRIVE 611 UI (unregulated infeed) line supply module, rated 10 kW continuous and 25 kW peak. The unit’s own nameplate reads “SIMODRIVE U/E-MODUL INT./EXT. 10/25KW”, and Siemens’ catalogue text for 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 is: “SIMODRIVE 611 INFEED MODULE, 10/25 KW, UNREGULATED, INTERNAL/EXTERNAL COOLING, MAINS CONTACTOR WITH BREAK CONTACT”.
Correcting the category: this is an infeed, not an axis power module
Earlier copy on this listing called it a “power module” for PLC power distribution. It is neither. In a SIMODRIVE 611 rack the infeed module sits at the left-hand end, rectifies the three-phase mains and produces the common DC link that all the axis modules to its right draw from. It does not drive a motor and it does not power a PLC. Get the module class wrong when ordering a spare and the rack will not commission.
UI versus I/R — the distinction that decides whether it fits:
SIMODRIVE 611 came in two infeed flavours and they are not interchangeable:
UI / UE (unregelte Einspeisung, unregulated) — this module. A diode bridge. The DC link floats at roughly 1.35 x line voltage and moves with the mains. No regenerative feedback: braking energy is burned in the integrated pulsed braking resistor, rated 0.3 kW continuous and 25 kW peak with a maximum energy of 7500 Ws. The resistor can be disabled on DIL switch S1.5.I/R (Ein/Rückspeisung, regulated infeed with regenerative feedback) — a different module family entirely. Holds a stabilised DC link and returns braking energy to the mains. If the machine was built around an I/R module, this will not substitute for it, and vice versa. Ignore any listing that claims regenerative capability for this order number — we found at least one reseller stating exactly that, and it is wrong.
Continuous (S1) 10 kW, S6 duty 13 kW, peak 25 kW at 400 V. Rated input current 24 A rms. Line supply 3 AC 400 V ±10%, selectable to 415 V ±10% or 480 V +6/−10% on DIL switch S1, 50–60 Hz ±10%; 380 V ±15% is possible with derating. Published DC link range 0 to 490 to 680 V DC depending on the mains, with a maximum permissible DC-link capacitance of 6000 µF — that capacitance ceiling is the figure that limits how many axis modules and auxiliary capacitance modules you can hang off it.
The commutating reactor is integrated on the 5 kW and 10 kW modules, so unlike the larger units you do not need an external line reactor. Recommended line fusing is 25 A (5SE2325, 3NA3810 or AJT 25). If you need conducted-emissions compliance you will want the matching wideband line filter 6SN1111-0AA01-1AA1 (25 A, 156 x 281 x 91 mm), which is a separate purchase.
Siemens supplies this as a universal internal/external cooling module: the same part number is used for in-cabinet air cooling or for external (through-wall) cooling. The nameplate marking “INT./EXT.” confirms it. Hose cooling is not available on this module. Note the depth changes with the arrangement — 288 mm with internal cooling, 231 mm with external.
100 mm wide, 480 mm high. SIMODRIVE racks are laid out by module width, so the 100 mm figure is what you check against the existing mounting rail before ordering. Terminal set: X121 with 63 (pulse enable), 64 (drive enable) and 9/19; X161 with 48 (contactor control), 111 and 213 (NC), 113 (NO) and 112; X171 NS1/NS2; X111 relay contacts 5.1/5.2/5.3; X181 supply. UI modules have no X172 and no AS1-AS2 terminals — a common source of confusion when working from I/R module drawings.
The nameplate on this unit shows hardware version F. That is a genuinely useful detail: Siemens documents that the positively-driven 111-213 NC contact is only present from version F onwards. If your safety or interlock circuit relies on that positively-driven contact, an earlier version of the same order number will not provide it. This one does.
Ambient 0 to +55 °C with 2.5% per °C derating above 40 °C; storage −40 to +70 °C; up to 2000 m with derating above 1000 m.
Lifecycle: spare-parts only
Siemens lists this order number as discontinued (“Prod. Discont.”) and available as a made-to-order spare part only. The only successor Siemens publishes within the family is 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA2, the same 10/25 kW rating at the next hardware index. There is no published one-to-one mapping from a SIMODRIVE 611 infeed to a SINAMICS S120 line module — migrating means redesigning the drive rack, not swapping a part. For a machine tool still earning its keep on a SIMODRIVE 611 rack, a tested exact-match infeed is usually the only economic repair.
Siemens’ own sources disagree slightly on weight — 9.5 kg in the SIMODRIVE 611 configuration manual versus 9.00 kg on the Siemens product portal. Also be aware that the rated DC-link output current and per-unit power losses are not published for this module.
Also written 6SN11451AA010AA1, 6SN1145 1AA01 0AA1 and 6SN1145-1AA010AA1. Note the family split: 6SN1145 is the internal/hose-cooling designation and 6SN1146 the external-cooling one, although this particular part is flagged INT./EXT. Commonly searched as “Simodrive 611 infeed module 10kW”, “Simodrive UE module”, “Simodrive unregulated line supply” and “6SN1145 power supply”.
