What this part is

A Fanuc A20B-2200-0011 printed circuit board — a plug-in serial / DMA add-on option card that mounts onto a Fanuc Series 15 CNC main board and adds serial communication and direct-memory-access transfer capability to the control. It is an option board, not a CPU and not a standalone unit: it has no enclosure, no power supply and no operator interface of its own, and it only functions once seated in the host Series 15 control.

What these specs mean in practice

A20B-2200 boards will not seat in a Series 0, Series 16/18/21 or 160i/180i control — those generations use different base groups (8100, 2900, 3300 and so on). What is not included

This listing is the bare add-on PCB. It does not include the Series 15 main board or master card it plugs into, the card rack or backplane, the CNC power supply, ribbon or serial cables, connector kits, memory modules or memory cartridges, the backup battery, an operator panel or MDI keyboard, or any software, parameter tape or option-enable code. Fanuc option boards frequently also require a corresponding option parameter to be set in the control; that parameter setting is not supplied.

Installation and setup notes

Power down and lock out the control fully before removing or seating any Fanuc card — the Series 15 backplane is not hot-swappable. Handle the board by its edges with a wrist strap; the DMA and serial devices on it are static-sensitive. Note the original slot position and connector orientation before removal, because Fanuc add-on cards are keyed to specific positions on the host board.
