1 in stock

Operator panel interface control printed circuit board for Fanuc 0-series CNC controls, forming the link between the machine operator panel pushbuttons, selector switches and keysheet and the CNC itself. Fits 0-TA, 0-MA, 0-TB, 0-MB, 0-TC and 0-MC controls and has been reported in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8-axis machine tool builds. Not a 10, 11, 15 or 16-series board, and not interchangeable with other A16B-1310 variants — the last four digits must match your machine’s parts list.

Product Description

What this part is

A16B is Fanuc’s prefix for main and control printed circuit boards, and A16B-1310-0380 is an operator panel interface control PCB. Its job is to sit between the machine operator panel — the pushbuttons, selector switches, feed and spindle override switches and keysheet that the operator actually touches — and the CNC control that acts on those inputs. It translates panel hardware into signals the control can read, and drives the panel’s indicators in return.

Correcting the source data

Our previous listing described this as a “Digital Operator Panel Board” with a “compact size and easy-to-use interface.” That copy was generic and, worse, misleading: it reads as though the item were an operator-facing keyboard assembly. It is not. This is an interface circuit board that mounts inside the control, not a bare MDI keyboard membrane. MDI keysheets and keyboard membranes carry A86L part numbers — A86L-0001-0126 is a typical example. If what failed on your machine is the printed keypad overlay the operator presses, you need an A86L part, not this one. If what failed is the board the panel wiring plugs into, this is the family you are in.

Which controls this fits

This is the fit-or-not-fit question, so we will state it plainly. The board is for the Fanuc 0-series CNC family: 0-TA, 0-MA, 0-TB, 0-MB, 0-TC and 0-MC. T variants are lathe controls, M variants are mill and machining centre controls, and the trailing letter is the generation within the 0-series. The part has been reported in service on machine tools configured for 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 axes, so axis count by itself is not a disqualifier.

It is not a 10-series, 11-series, 15-series or 16-series board. Those controls use a different architecture and different interface boards entirely, and no amount of physical similarity makes them interchangeable. If your machine’s nameplate says Fanuc 15 or Fanuc 16, stop here — this is the wrong part number.

The last four digits must match exactly

This is the most important sentence on this page. Neighbouring members of the A16B-1310-xxxx family are different operator panel variants, and they are not interchangeable with each other. Fanuc part numbers in this range differ according to the machine tool builder and the specific operator panel layout that builder specified — how many switch inputs, which lamp outputs, what connector arrangement. Two boards can look identical, mount in the same rack, and still not work in each other’s machines.

So do not order by family. Do not order because a dealer says “same as” or “equivalent to.” Get the number off the board you are replacing, or off the machine’s electrical parts list, and confirm all four digits read 0380. The cost of getting this wrong is not the price of the board; it is the days of downtime spent discovering it.

What it connects to

On the machine side, this board terminates the wiring from the operator panel keysheet, pushbuttons and selector switches. On the control side it connects to the CNC master board or motherboard within the 0-series control. It mounts in the Fanuc 0-series control card rack or behind the operator panel, depending on the builder’s cabinet design.

What is not published for this board

We will not invent electrical specifications, so here is the honest gap list. The connector pinout is not published. Operating voltages are not published. Signal-level specifications, timing and I/O counts are not published. The specific card-rack slot this board occupies is not published and in practice varies with the machine builder’s configuration. Fanuc revision suffixes in the form A16B-1310-0380/xx are typical of the company’s numbering, but the specific suffix list for this board is not published either.

The practical instruction that follows from that: match this board by exact part number against your machine’s parts list and the board you are removing. Do not attempt to qualify it electrically from published data, because the published data does not exist outside Fanuc’s own maintenance documentation for your specific machine. If you have the machine’s maintenance manual, the connector table in it is authoritative and this listing is not.

Why a shelf spare on an unsupported control makes sense:
Fanuc does not support 0-series controls. Parts are repair-exchange or surplus only; nothing in this family is manufactured new. That is the situation, and it has a specific operational consequence worth thinking through.

0-series controls are still running production machine tools worldwide — lathes and machining centres that hold tolerance and earn money every shift. When the operator panel interface board dies, the machine stops even though the CNC itself, the drives, the spindle and the mechanics are all perfectly healthy. It is a total production stoppage caused by a subordinate board, on a control that cannot be bought new at any price. There is no expedite option and no factory to call. A known-good spare in the cabinet drawer is cheap insurance measured against a machine that sits idle while someone trawls the surplus market for an exact part-number match. That is the whole argument, and it is why parts like this trade at all.

Alternate part number forms

The same part appears in searches and purchase orders as A16B-1310-0380, A16B13100380, A16B 1310 0380 and A16B-1310-0380/xx where a Fanuc revision suffix is quoted. Obsolete and legacy; supply is surplus and repair-exchange only.
