Fanuc A06B-6114-H103, the Alpha i series servo amplifier module SVM1-20i (also written αiSV 20). It is a single-axis servo amplifier: it takes DC from the drive rack’s common bus and inverts it into three-phase current to drive one Fanuc Alpha i servo motor, under position and velocity command from the CNC over the FSSB fibre link. It is an amplifier, not a power supply — it does not rectify mains and cannot run on its own.
A06B – Fanuc servo and spindle products6114 – the Alpha i (αi) single-axis servo amplifier module family, the post-2004 i-series generationH103 – the size within that family: SVM1-20i. The SVM1 means one axis and the 20 is the amplifier’s transistor-module rating in amps, not the output current and not the kW — continuous output is 6.5 A

Read the model number carefully, because the 20 in SVM1-20i is the transistor rating and buyers regularly mistake it for output amps. The figure that decides whether this amplifier will drive your axis is the 6.5 A continuous / 2.5 kW rating. This is the smallest amplifier in the αi servo family, which makes it the natural fit for a light or medium axis — a tool changer, a B or C rotary axis, a tailstock, a small X or Y on a compact machine — rather than a heavy vertical axis on a large machining centre.
Because the input is 283–339 V DC and not AC mains, this module must sit on a drive rack alongside an αi power supply module (the 6110-series αiPS) that rectifies the incoming three-phase supply and feeds the shared DC bus. Any combination of αi servo modules and αiSP spindle modules can hang off one or two power supplies, and the power supply must be sized for the total simultaneous demand.
The 60 mm width matters for a retrofit into an existing cabinet: modules on this platform bolt side by side and the DC bus bars are cut to a specific arrangement, so replacing a wider amplifier with this one, or vice versa, changes the bus geometry.
Firmware and control compatibility: read this before you buy:
The 6114 αi servo modules are the post-2004 i-series generation and they interface over FSSB, so the CNC has to be an FSSB control. In practice that means Series 0i-B and 0i-C, later 15i, 16i, 18i and 21i controls, and Fanuc robot controllers. An earlier non-FSSB Alpha system, the A06B-6079 generation, will not accept this module — the servo interface is different, not merely a different connector. This amplifier drives αi model servo motors from αi8/3000 and its high-speed variants. Confirm both the control generation and the motor model against your machine’s drive list before ordering.
Servo amplifier module only, as pictured. This listing does not include the αi power supply module (αiPS, 6110 series); spindle amplifier modules; DC bus link bars or bus connection kits; the FSSB optical fibre cable; motor power or encoder feedback cables; the connector kit; a braking resistor (the αi power supply is regenerative and does not normally use one); a rack, cabinet or mounting hardware; a servo motor; or documentation. An αi drive system is a power supply plus one or more amplifiers, and this is one amplifier.
Mount with the ventilation clearance Fanuc specifies; the module relies on its internal fan and heatsink and will alarm on overtemperature if airflow is obstructed. Observe DC bus polarity and torque the bus bars properly. Isolate and allow the DC bus capacitors to discharge fully before touching bus terminals — they hold a hazardous charge after the mains is removed. FSSB is a daisy chain, so the module’s position in the chain determines its axis assignment; the FSSB axis setting in the CNC parameters must match the physical order, and getting this wrong is the most common commissioning fault on this platform. Set the servo parameters for the specific motor model rather than reusing another axis’s set. If the amplifier alarms, read the status display and check it against the αi servo amplifier alarm list before condemning the module — a good share of amplifier alarms originate in the motor, the encoder, the fibre link or the DC bus.
A06B-6114-H103 is the SVM1-20i. Other H-numbers in the 6114 family are different current ratings and are not interchangeable — fitting a smaller amplifier than the axis was designed around will alarm on acceleration, and a larger one changes the module width and the parameter set. Multi-axis modules in the same generation (SVM2, SVM3) serve two and three axes respectively and are a different physical item, not an equivalent for a single-axis slot. The earlier A06B-6096 Alpha servo amplifiers are also an FSSB range, but they are the previous generation with different module hardware and parameters — related history, not a cross-reference. The non-FSSB predecessor is the A06B-6079 range. Also searched as A06B6114H103, A06B 6114 H103, SVM1-20i, SVM1-20I, aiSV20, aiSV1-20, alpha i servo module 20, and GE Fanuc A06B-6114-H103.
