This module works in a Series Six Plus rack and provides no parity checking when used there. A Series Six Plus system requiring memory parity takes the Series Six Plus combined memory board. In a plain Series Six (60/600/6000) the distinction does not arise.

Because the memory is CMOS RAM, the program lives as long as the backup power holds. Typical loaded battery life on this platform is about a year, with 8 to 10 years shelf life unloaded.

What is included

Circuit board only, as pictured. This listing does not include a rack or backplane, a CPU rack power supply, the Logic Control or Arithmetic Control modules, an I/O Control module, a Communications Control Module, a programmer or Logicmaster 6 software, a memory cartridge, or a fresh backup battery. No cable or connector kit is supplied, and the module seats directly on the rack backplane.

Mounting data

The board seats in rack slot 4 on the Series Six CPU rack backplane, immediately to the left of the Arithmetic Control module. The Series Six backplane connectors take the extraction and insertion tool supplied with the CPU. This is a static-sensitive assembly. The board carries a memory-protect setting. A module fitted with a dead lithium cell accepts a program and loses it at the next power-down.
