Heidenhain VRZ 720B, ID 252909-01, is a two-axis position display unit (digital readout) for HEIDENHAIN linear encoders and for HEIDENHAIN rotary encoders without built-in pulse shaping. Type: Digital Readout Display Unit. Number of Axes: 2. The VRZ 760B is the three-axis version of the same design.
Encoder Grating Periods: 4, 10, 20, 40, 100 and 200 µm. Reference Marks: single or distance-coded. The grating period is set by parameter, so one unit adapts to scales of different pitch. Data Interface: RS-232-C/V.24 serial output. External Functions: 15-pin flange socket for an edge finder, axis zeroing, zero-crossover signal and store pulse. Display Modes: mm or inch, radius or diameter, distance-to-go. Tool radius compensation and touch-probe functions are built in. Operating parameters are retained through power loss.
