Our previous listing described this as an “I/O Control Board.” We could not corroborate that from Fanuc documentation or from any source we would rely on, so we have removed it rather than repeat it. One reseller index lists A16B-2200-0800 as a “serial 5/6 axis” board, which would make it an axis-control rather than an I/O card — but that is a single third-tier listing with no supporting document, and one uncorroborated claim is not better than the other. We are therefore not stating a function for this board.
That is a deliberate choice. On a Fanuc control, buying a board on a wrong functional description is expensive: it goes in the wrong slot, or it does not go in at all, and the machine stays down while a second board is ordered. An honest gap serves you better than a confident guess. Our previous copy also began with a stray digit — “3The Fanuc…” — a feed artefact, now removed.
What the part number does tell you:
A16B — Fanuc’s PCB prefix for older-generation control boards and drive units. The other prefixes in use are A17B and A20B.2200 — the board family. The A16B-2200 series is one of Fanuc’s most functionally diverse: it spans CNC main control, PMC, option expansion and robot axis boards.
