| Compatible With Replaces | Any 95925-cup tapered roller position; pairs with the 95500 or 95525 cone |
| Precision Class | Class 3 (Timken) — tighter than standard precision; denoted by the -3 suffix |
| Dynamic Load Rating C1 | 629,000 N — for the complete 95500/95925 assembly. A cup alone carries no rating. |
| Additional Attributes | CUP (outer race) ONLY — the mating cone assembly is not included. Never pair a new cup with a used cone or vice versa; tapered raceways wear into each other and a mixed pairing concentrates load on part of the roller length. Tapered roller bearings are adjustable and must be set to the specified end play or preload after fitting. New old stock. |

A single tapered roller bearing cup — the outer race only. Timken part number 95925, in Class 3 precision. Outside diameter 9.250 in (234.950 mm), cup width 1.9375 in (49.21 mm).
This is one component, not a bearing. A tapered roller bearing is supplied as a cup plus a cone assembly (inner race with its rollers and cage). This listing is the cup on its own. The mating cone, part number 95500, is not included, and neither are rollers or a cage. Together, 95500 and 95925 form a bearing with a 5.000 in bore, 9.250 in outside diameter and 2.500 in overall assembled width.
The original description gave the cup width as 1.875 in. That figure is the overall assembled width (T) of the complete 95500/95925 bearing family reference, not the width of this cup, and in any case 1.875 in is neither. Timken publishes the cup width (C) for 95925 as 1.9375 in, which matches the 1-15/16 in figure in the listing title. We have published 1.9375 in and removed the 1.875 in claim.
Cups and cones are matched by geometry, not by wear pattern, so a new cup can legitimately be fitted to a new cone of the correct number — but never mix a used cup with a new cone or vice versa. The raceways wear into each other; a part-worn pairing concentrates load on a fraction of the roller length and fails early. If your existing cone is worn, you need both halves.
Class 3 is a tighter Timken precision grade than standard, controlling bore, outside diameter and width to closer limits. It matters where the bearing sets a shaft position or where the housing bore is held to a matching tolerance; in a general industrial housing it buys little.
A cup on its own has no load rating — ratings are a property of the complete bearing. For reference, Timken publishes the following for the complete 95500/95925 tapered single assembly:
Bore (d): 5.000 in (127.000 mm)
Outside diameter (D): 9.250 in (234.950 mm)
Overall assembled width (T): 2.500 in (63.5 mm)
Cup width (C): 1.9375 in
Dynamic radial load rating (C1): 629,000 N
Static radial load rating (C0): 931,000 N
Those ratings apply only when the cup is paired with the correct cone. They are not a rating for this cup in isolation.
One cup. We also hold Timken cones and cups across a wide range of numbers and can often assemble a complete matched set — if you need the 95500 cone to go with this cup, ask and we will check stock.
Press the cup squarely into the housing bore using a driver that bears on the cup’s back face, never on the raceway or the small-end rim, which will chip. Ensure the cup seats fully against the housing shoulder — an unseated cup shows up as excessive end play and destroys the setting. Tapered roller bearings are adjustable: the assembly must be set to the correct end play or preload after fitting, per the equipment manufacturer’s figure.
95925 is an industry-standard ANSI/ABMA tapered cup number, offered by multiple manufacturers, and cross-brand substitution of the same number is generally valid on geometry. The -3 suffix denotes Timken’s Class 3 precision grade, so a plain 95925 from any source is the standard-precision version and is not a like-for-like replacement if the application specified Class 3.
