| Dynamic Load Rating C1 | Not retrieved from a manufacturer source for the 29585-90067 TDO assembly — left blank. Deliberately NOT substituted with single-row 29585/29520 or 29585/29522 figures, which are a different bearing. |
| Additional Attributes | COMPLETE BEARING — nothing further needed. Supplied pre-set: the spacer is ground for these specific components, so keep each set together and never mix parts between assemblies or the end play is lost. Match on the assembly number, not the cone number, when replacing a two-row unit. A standard-precision 29585-90067 is not a like-for-like replacement where Class 3 was specified. New old stock. |

A complete Timken TDO double-row tapered roller bearing assembly, assembly number 29585-90067, built to Class 3 precision. TDO stands for Tapered Double Outer: two single-row cone assemblies running in one double cup, spacer-set.
Two 29585 cone assemblies (inner races with rollers and cages)
One 29526D double cup (one outer race carrying two raceways)
One R800008 spacer ring
Bore 2.500 in, outside diameter 4.4375 in. This is a complete bearing — unlike the loose cones and cups we also stock, nothing further is needed.
The original listing gave the type as “Tapered Roller Bearing Cone”. It is not a cone but a full two-row assembly of two cones, a double cup and a spacer, and we have corrected the type accordingly. A buyer searching for a complete TDO unit would never have found this listing as written.
A single-row tapered roller bearing takes thrust one way only and must be opposed elsewhere on the shaft. A TDO does everything in one envelope: radial load, thrust in both directions, and axial location of the shaft. That makes it the usual answer for a short stiff shaft with no room for two spaced bearings, and for positions that have to resist overturning moments, since the two rows sit far enough apart to give genuine moment stiffness.
The spacer is what makes it a set. Its width, ground to suit these particular cones and this cup, establishes the assembly’s internal end play. Lose or swap the spacer and the setting is gone.
Class 3 is a tighter Timken precision grade than standard, holding bore, outside diameter and width to closer limits. On a two-row assembly that also means a more tightly controlled end-play setting, which is why Class 3 is specified where the bearing has to locate a shaft accurately rather than merely support it.
We were unable to retrieve C1 and C0 figures for the 29585-90067 TDO assembly from a manufacturer source we will stand behind, so those cells are deliberately blank. We have specifically not substituted the widely mirrored ratings for the single-row 29585/29520 or 29585/29522 assemblies — those are one-row bearings with a different cup and a different capacity, and using their numbers here would understate this unit and corrupt a load calculation. Contact Timken with the assembly number if a certified rating is needed.
Two complete assemblies in stock. Note that the “(2) 29585” in our stock record refers to the two cones within each assembly, not to a quantity of bearings — a common source of confusion with Timken assembly numbers.
Supplied pre-set. Keep each assembly’s components together and never mix parts between assemblies, or the ground end play is lost. Normally the double cup is the clamped member in the housing with the cones free on the shaft, or the reverse — follow the equipment manufacturer’s arrangement. Press only on the ring being fitted, never through rollers or cages, and clamp fully; a partially clamped TDO carries no setting at all.
29585 and 29526D are industry-standard inch tapered designations. Match on the assembly number rather than the cone number when replacing a two-row unit: 29585 also pairs with the single cups 29520 and 29522, producing quite different bearings from the same cone. A standard-precision 29585-90067 is not a like-for-like replacement where Class 3 was specified.
