A double-row spherical roller bearing with a tapered bore, 100 mm bore × 180 mm outside diameter × 46 mm width. Two rows of barrel-profile rollers run on a common spherical outer raceway, so the inner ring and roller set swivel within the outer ring. The bearing carries heavy radial load, takes thrust in both axial directions, and accommodates static misalignment and running shaft deflection.

C3 — radial internal clearance greater than normal.
The spherical outer raceway is what makes the bearing self-aligning, and the double row is what gives it thrust capacity in both directions rather than one. The tapered bore is a mounting feature: driving the inner ring further up the taper increases the interference fit and reduces the residual internal clearance, so one part covers a range of shaft fits and the fitter sets the final clearance by measurement. The E4 groove and three holes feed lubricant to the centre of the two roller rows from a housing port, which is the arrangement used where the bearing is relubricated on a schedule rather than packed once. C3 clearance leaves running room for the interference a tapered bore creates and for a shaft running hotter than its housing.

The 1:12 tapered bore seats either on a matching tapered shaft journal or on an adapter sleeve fitted to a plain cylindrical shaft. The matching sleeve for this size is an H320, which takes a 90 mm shaft and is supplied by its maker complete with a KM 20 locknut and MB 20 lock washer. Drive-up distance along the taper sets the mounted radial clearance, so the C3 value above is the free clearance measured before mounting. Where the outer-ring lubrication holes are used, the housing lube port aligns with the groove, which is continuous around the ring and so requires no rotational indexing.
