This deserves saying explicitly because it looks like an error and is not. A standard open 22213-E1-XL is 65 × 120 × 31 mm, and a 22313 is 65 × 140 × 48 mm. Seeing 65 × 120 × 38 mm on a bearing labelled 22213 naturally invites a correction to 31 mm.
That correction would be wrong. The sealed WS version genuinely has a wider envelope than the open bearing, because the extra width is what houses the seals. The pattern holds consistently across the range — the open 22218-E1-XL is 90 × 160 × 40 mm while the sealed WS22218-E1-XL-2RSR is 90 × 160 × 48 mm. So 38 mm is the real published width for this part and has been retained as found. The practical consequence for a buyer is important: a sealed WS bearing will not drop into a housing designed around the open bearing’s width. Check the axial space before ordering.

2RSR — contact lip seals on both sides. The R codes are seal designations, not shield codes: these are rubbing lip seals in contact with the inner ring, which is what makes the bearing genuinely tight against ingress rather than merely shrouded.
No K — the bore is straight and cylindrical, so it mounts on a plain interference-fit shaft seat with no adapter sleeve. A tapered-bore version does exist as WS22213-E1-XL-K-2RSR, and the two are not interchangeable.
In screen and shaker duty the failure mode is almost never fatigue — it is contamination and lubricant breakdown. Check the available axial width in the housing first — at 38 mm this bearing is 7 mm wider than the open 22213 it might be replacing. Mount the 65 mm interference fit with an induction heater or oil bath rather than driving it on, and never pass mounting force through the rollers from one ring to the other. Take particular care not to damage or invert the seal lips during handling; a nicked lip defeats the entire purpose of the bearing. Do not attempt to prise the seals out to inspect or repack unless you are prepared to replace the bearing.
The tapered-bore sibling is WS22213-E1-XL-K-2RSR. Other makers offer competing sealed spherical roller families rather than direct suffix equivalents — SKF’s sealed spherical rollers and Timken’s sealed spherical roller range occupy the same niche, but seal design, envelope and ratings differ between them, so cross-shopping requires checking the actual dimensions rather than trusting the 22213 base number. Critically, the open 22213-E1-XL at 65 × 120 × 31 mm is not a substitute: it is narrower, unsealed, and has different ratings. It will fit a narrower housing this bearing will not, and it will not survive the duty this one is built for.
