The four holes sit at the corners of a square, so the unit bolts to a face perpendicular to the shaft with the shaft passing through the flange. The insert seats in a matching spherical bore in the housing and swivels to take up initial misalignment between the shaft and the mounting face. Two grub screws in the extended inner ring clamp the insert to a plain shaft. Nitrile / fabric seals at both faces hold the factory grease charge. The unit is a complete assembly and can be removed and refitted without breaking the housing.
Within the RHP Self-Lube range the same insert size appears in other housings: SFT is the two-bolt oval flange, SF is the standard square flange, and the pillow block styles bolt to a base parallel to the shaft.
