INASL04-5010-PPFull Complement Double Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing, Sealed Both Sides, 50 x 80 x 40 mm — 102 kN Dynamic, 2,600 rpm Max

Condition: New

Availability:

1 in stock

Full-complement double row cylindrical roller bearing, 50 mm bore by 80 mm outside diameter by 40 mm wide, sealed on both sides. No cage means the maximum possible number of rollers, giving 102 kN dynamic and 151 kN static in a very compact envelope — far beyond a caged bearing of the same size. The trade is speed: limiting speed is 2,600 rpm. For heavily loaded, slow-running positions.

Product Description

What this part is

A Schaeffler INA full-complement double row cylindrical roller bearing, 50 mm bore, 80 mm outside diameter, 40 mm wide, with lip seals on both faces. The SL04 series is a specific answer to a specific problem: you need very high radial capacity, the envelope is fixed and small, and the shaft turns slowly.

What “full complement” means and what it costs you:
An ordinary roller bearing has a cage holding the rollers apart. The cage guarantees the rollers stay evenly spaced and cannot rub against each other, which is what lets a caged bearing run fast. But the cage occupies space between rollers — space that could have held more rollers.

A full-complement bearing deletes the cage and packs the annulus with the maximum number of rollers it will hold. More rollers in contact means more load shared, so the load rating rises sharply for the same boundary dimensions. This bearing carries 102 kN dynamic in an 80 mm outside diameter, which is a great deal of capacity for the space.

The price is speed, and it is not a small penalty. With no cage, adjacent rollers touch and rub, and rollers can skew. That generates friction and heat, so the limiting speed is 2,600 rpm. Compare that against a caged bearing of similar size running several times faster. Full-complement bearings belong in slow, heavily loaded positions: gearbox idlers, sheaves and pulleys, track rollers, jib and crane joints, screw and press mechanisms, planetary gear pins. Put one in a fast-running position and it will overheat regardless of how good the lubricant is.

Decoding the designation

SL04 — INA’s full-complement double row cylindrical roller bearing series, fixed (non-locating) design.5010 — size code, giving 50 mm bore and 80 mm outside diameter.PP — lip seals on both sides. A single P would be one seal.2NR (on the SL045010-PP-2NR variant) — snap-ring grooves and snap rings on both sides of the outer ring, for axial retention in a through-bored housing. This record carries the -PP form; if snap rings are essential to your installation, confirm before ordering.

Why the seals change the maintenance case

Contact lip seals on both faces make this a self-contained, greased-for-life unit. That is not a convenience feature here — it is close to a necessity. A cageless roller pack is more sensitive to contamination than a caged one, because there is nothing keeping debris out of the roller-to-roller contacts, and slow-running bearings do not throw contaminants clear the way fast ones do. Seals also retain grease in a position that may be difficult or impossible to relubricate: a track roller, a pivot pin, a sheave on a boom. The seals do add friction, which matters little at 2,600 rpm and less at the speeds these actually run.

The corollary: because it is sealed and pre-greased, do not expect grease pumped into the housing to reach the rollers. It will not.

Read the static rating against the dynamic one: 151 kN static against 102 kN dynamic. That gap is the full-complement signature and it is genuinely useful, because these bearings so often sit in positions that are loaded while stationary or barely moving — a pin, a pivot, a jacking screw. In those positions C0 is the number that governs, not C.

Quantity, configuration and fitting notes

One bearing in stock. It is a complete, one-piece sealed unit. This is a fixed (non-locating) design — it does not accommodate axial shaft movement, so it should not be used as the free bearing on a shaft that grows thermally. Mount by press or heat onto the shaft seat; press only on ring faces and never on the seals. Because the roller pack is cageless, the rollers are not retained if the bearing is dismantled — do not attempt to separate it.

Interchange guidance

Search forms include SL04-5010-PP, SL045010PP, SL045010-PP, SL04 5010 PP, SL045010-PP-2NR, SL045010, SL04-5010. Related builds: SL045010-PP-2NR (with snap rings), SL014910 and SL045010-D-PP. Same-envelope full-complement equivalents at 50 × 80 × 40 mm are catalogued by NBS, ZVL and other makers under the SL04 5010 numbering. Do not substitute a caged NN or NNF bearing of the same boundary dimensions expecting the same load rating — the capacity difference is the entire point of the SL04 design.
