A FAG NU206-E-TVP2-C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing, 30 mm bore, 62 mm outside diameter, 16 mm wide. Line contact between cylindrical rollers and raceways gives a much higher radial rating and stiffness than a ball bearing of the same envelope. The inner ring is plain and separable, which makes the bearing a non-locating unit and lets the two rings be mounted independently.
NU is the design code, and it is the specification that matters most here: the outer ring carries two integral guide ribs, the inner ring has none, and the bearing therefore provides no axial location in either direction. 2 and 06 give the ISO 02 dimension series and the bore code, 30 mm at five millimetres per unit. E is the reinforced internal design with a fuller roller complement. TVP2 is the glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 66 roller-guided cage. C3 is radial internal clearance greater than normal.
The NU design is the floating position in a two-bearing shaft arrangement: it absorbs thermal growth by letting the roller set traverse the plain inner raceway, while a second bearing elsewhere on the shaft takes the axial load. Within the same 30 x 62 x 16 envelope, NJ206 adds one inner-ring rib and locates the shaft in one direction, NUP206 adds a rib and a loose flange ring and locates in both, and NH206 is an NJ plus a separate HJ angle ring. C3 clearance suits an inner ring hotter than its housing or a tight shaft fit. The polyamide cage is quiet and shock-tolerant with a practical continuous ceiling of 120 °C.

The rings mount separately, which is the practical advantage of the separable design: the inner ring goes onto the shaft and the outer ring assembly into the housing, then the two are brought together axially. Cylindrical roller bearings are sensitive to misalignment because of their line contact, so the shaft seat and housing bore want to be concentric and square. Rings from different bearings are not mixed; the roller set and its inner ring are matched at manufacture.
The ISO base number is NU206, so another maker’s NU206 E C3 with a polyamide or steel cage is a genuine interchange on fit and axial behaviour. NJ206, NUP206, NH206, N206 and NNU4906 are related sizes, not substitutions: each changes the axial location the bearing provides or the number of rows. NU206-E-TVP2 without a clearance suffix is CN clearance.
