An MRC 122 KS single-row deep groove ball bearing, 110 mm bore, 170 mm outside diameter, 28 mm width, open on both faces. MRC is part of the SKF group. The balls run in deep circumferential grooves cut in both rings, and it is that groove depth which lets a deep groove bearing take axial load in either direction as well as radial load.
The MRC 122 number is the 110 mm bore size in MRC’s own deep groove series, corresponding to the ISO 6022 envelope of 110 x 170 x 28 mm. There is no closure suffix, so both faces are open, and no snap ring groove in the outer ring. The KS block is not part of the verified MRC suffix register and is carried here as a searchable reference rather than as a specification.
A deep groove ball bearing is the lowest-friction and highest-speed of the common bearing types for a given envelope, carrying radial load together with moderate thrust in both directions from a single row. The 60-series proportions used at this bore keep the section light for the shaft diameter, which is what suits large-bore, moderately loaded positions such as fan and blower shafts and electric-motor drive ends. With both faces open, lubrication and sealing are provided by the housing rather than by the bearing.

Mounting force is applied through the ring being fitted and is never transmitted across the balls from one ring to the other. An interference fit on the inner ring of a bearing this size is made by even heating rather than by pressing.
Same-envelope equivalents on the ISO number are SKF 6022, FAG 6022, NSK 6022, NTN 6022 and Koyo 6022, all 110 x 170 x 28 mm, open. A 6022-2RS1 or 6022-2Z adds seals or shields, a 6022/C3 widens the internal clearance, and a 6022 N or NR adds a snap ring groove or a groove plus ring; those are related sizes rather than substitutions.
