NTN 7016T1DBTGNP4 is a super-precision angular contact ball bearing on the metric 70 light series, bore 80 mm, outside diameter 125 mm, width 22 mm per bearing. The bore is straight, both faces are open, and the rings and balls are high-carbon chrome bearing steel. Running accuracy is ISO class 4, ABEC 7 in the ANSI scheme.
The 7016 root fixes the 70-series envelope on an 80 mm bore. DBT is the NTN arrangement code for a three-bearing stack: two bearings set back-to-back and a third in tandem with one of them, ground as a matched group 66 mm wide overall. P4 is the running-accuracy class. The T1 and GN groups are NTN carton designations recorded as carton markings so the exact box number stays searchable.
A DBT stack is the answer to an axial load that is heavy in one direction and light in the other, which is the load case of a vertical spindle, a screw drive or a milling head taking cutting thrust. The tandem pair shares the heavy-direction thrust between two rows, roughly doubling the capacity in that direction, while the reversed bearing holds the shaft against the light return load and closes the preload loop. Class 4 accuracy holds bore, outside diameter and raceway runout to a small fraction of standard tolerance, so shaft and housing seats have to be ground to matching tolerances for that accuracy to reach the tool.
Two rows oppose each other back-to-back for thrust in both directions and moment stiffness; the third row sits parallel to one of them so its load line points the same way. Each bearing is 22 mm wide, so the assembled group occupies 66 mm of shaft between ground shoulders.
Matched stacks are mounted in the etched order with the marked faces indexed as ground, inner rings clamped by a locknut and outer rings clamped by an end cap, both against square ground shoulders. Force is applied only to the ring being fitted. Oil-air, oil-mist or a metered grease charge suits the open faces.
The 80 x 125 x 22 mm envelope on the 7016 root is shared across the precision makers, so ISO 71916 and 7016 designations from other brands cover the same seats. A 7016 in a DB, DF or DT arrangement is a related size rather than a substitution, because the row count and the direction of the load lines change the thrust capacity and the stiffness. A 7016 in class P5 or with a different preload group is likewise a related size.
