A flanged cup locates axially against the housing face, so the housing can be a simple through bore with no internal shoulder to machine and no end cap or circlip to retain the outer ring. That removes a machining operation, removes a stack-up tolerance, and makes assembly and future replacement quicker. The trade-off is that the flange fixes the axial position of the cup, so shimming for preload has to be taken up on the cone side or through the opposed bearing.
Class 5 precision buys reduced radial and axial runout and tighter bore and outside diameter tolerance. On a spindle, a gearbox pinion or anything where a shaft must run true, that translates directly into lower vibration and better tooth or tool position. It also means the mating shaft and housing must be machined to a matching accuracy, or the precision is wasted.

Mount opposed to a second tapered bearing and set clearance or preload on assembly — a tapered roller bearing has no internal clearance until it is mounted. Press on the cone bore only; never drive load through the rollers. Because the cup flange sets its own axial datum, check the resulting stack before adjusting. Class 5 parts deserve clean assembly conditions and a proper mounting tool rather than a hammer and drift.
The 32206 boundary is an ISO standard, so plain 32206 parts from other makers share the 30 x 62 x 21.25 envelope. They will not share the flanged cup, the HR roller complement or the class 5 tolerance, and substituting one loses whichever of those the original design relied on. If the housing has no shoulder, the flange is not optional.
