Fitting notes

The cylindrical bore seats directly on the shaft, the interference set by the shaft tolerance rather than by drive-up. Where the W33 holes are used, the housing lube port aligns with the groove, which is continuous around the ring and so requires no rotational indexing.

Interchange guidance

A 22220 CC/C4W33 is the same bearing in a wider clearance class and is a related size rather than an interchange, since clearance class governs mounted preload and running temperature. A 22220 CCK/W33 is a related size too, its 1:12 tapered bore calling for a tapered journal or an adapter sleeve instead of a plain shaft seat. A 22220 with a machined brass cage carries different speed and temperature limits and is a different part.
