C — hardware revision letter. Sister units carry A, B and D; the letter tracks board-level revisions, so match it when swapping into a documented cabinet.

This is the field that matters most on a DRH: the S-number identifies the tuning and I/O configuration the drive left the factory with, and two drives with the same DRH-02050 base but different S-numbers will not behave identically on the same axis.

Legacy branding: BBC Brown Boveri Axodyn and ABB Sace; BBC merged with ASEA in 1988 to form ABB, and the DRH range is long discontinued with no factory replacement, which is why surplus and repair-exchange units are the normal source.

Installation and setup notes

Mount in a ventilated enclosure with the specified clearance above and below the heatsink; Axodyn amplifiers rely on convection or cabinet-fan airflow. Bond the drive chassis to the cabinet ground plane and keep motor power leads screened and separated from the feedback loom — the resolver and tach inputs on the DRH are low level and will pick up PWM noise if the harness is run in a common duct.
