A universally ground duplex pair of RHP precision angular contact ball bearings in the heavy 73 dimension series, 70 mm bore by 150 mm outside diameter by 35 mm wide per bearing. RHP is the British precision marque now supplied through NSK Europe.
7314 — angular contact ball bearing, 73 heavy dimension series, 70 mm bore
A — 30° contact angle, reading the RHP/NSK scheme in which A is 30°, A5 is 25° and C is 15°
T — machined fabric-reinforced phenolic cage
DUL — duplex, universally ground, light preload; mountable DF, DB or DT without shimming
P4 — ISO class 4, equivalent to ABEC 7. The alternate number’s EP7 is the same accuracy band in RHP’s own grade scheme
The claimed manufacture in the United Kingdom has been removed — RHP is a British marque, but no origin marking is documented for the item in hand and origin claims on this brand have proven unreliable elsewhere in stock. Bulk-buy and order-now copy has gone with it.
This is the high-thrust corner of the angular contact range. A 30° contact angle carries far more axial load and gives far more axial stiffness than the 15° bearings usual in high-speed spindles, and pays for it with more heat and a lower speed ceiling. Combine that with the 73-series heavy section — 35 mm of width on a 70 mm bore — and you have a bearing chosen for load, not for rpm: vertical shafts, screw presses, heavy boring heads, gear drives with strong thrust reactions.
Light preload on a 30° pair is a deliberate combination worth understanding. It keeps friction and heat manageable in a bearing that is already thrust-heavy, while still removing the play that would otherwise let the shaft shuttle under reversing load. Preload grades must not be mixed within one arrangement.
No manufacturer-published basic dynamic or static load rating could be verified for this exact designation, so none is stated rather than borrowed from a differently angled or differently caged 7314. Boundary dimensions 70 x 150 x 35 mm per bearing are the ISO 73-series values and are confirmed; a mounted pair stacks to 70 mm.
Sold as matched pairs of two bearings. Stock reads 4 on this record and it is not established whether that counts pairs or individual bearings, so no firm piece count is published — ask for a shelf count if you need an exact quantity. Never split a universally ground pair.
The alternate RHP designation 7314X4TDUEP7 is the same bearing in RHP’s grade scheme. Same-envelope 30° equivalents include NSK 7314ADB or 7314ATYDULP4 (NSK A = 30°), NTN 7314 and SKF 7314 BEP (SKF B = 40° — note that is a different angle, so it is an envelope match only). Angle letters differ between makers; read the angle from the maker’s own scheme before substituting.
