What this is
Four Torrington IR-202416 inner rings — 1-1/4 in bore, 1-1/2 in outside diameter, 1 in wide, with an oil hole through the wall. An inner ring is the second half of a heavy-duty needle roller bearing. The HJ-series bearings have no inner ring of their own: their needles run directly on the shaft, which means the shaft journal has to be hardened and ground to bearing tolerances. Where that is not practical — a soft shaft, a worn journal, a shaft you do not want to re-machine — you press an inner ring on instead and let the needles run on that.
These are hardened and ground on the outer surface to serve as the raceway, with a straight bore. Four pieces, one per box, all original Torrington-Fafnir cartons marked Made in U.S.A. The cartons also carry the factory instruction that these ship with no running lubricant and must be lubricated at installation.
