Manufacturer StatusLegacy - Siemens Sonar-BERO 3RG6013-3AG00 discontinued; supplied by Pepperl+Fuchs as 3RG6013-3AG00-PF
Compatible With ReplacesDirect replacement for Siemens Sonar-BERO 3RG6013-3AG00. Other 3RG6013-3A*00-PF variants share the same barrel, range and supply but differ in output logic. Modern Pepperl+Fuchs UB-series M30 ultrasonic sensors cover the same range but use M12 connectors and different output arrangements.
Additional AttributesSensing range 200 to 1300 mm (20...130 cm) per body and carton label; blind zone below 200 mm - targets closer than the near limit are not detected; supply 20-30 V DC; terminal markings L+, NC(S), Y1, L- indicating a normally-closed switching output plus a synchronisation input; Y1 synchronisation allows multiple sensors aimed into the same space to be sequenced so they do not cross-talk; exact output logic (PNP/NPN, single or dual output) should be confirmed from the included P+F operating-instructions leaflet, which is the authority for this suffix; carton date code 04/09/13; original operating-instructions leaflet included

Correction: the sensing range is 200-1300 mm, not 2000 mm:
This listing previously stated a 2000 mm range. The sensor’s own body label and its carton both read sd: 20…130 cm, i.e. a 200 to 1300 mm sensing window, and every published variant in the 3RG6013 group (-3AC00, -3AD00, -3AE00, -3AF00, -3AH00) is specified the same way. The range is set by the 3RG6013 stem of the ordering number; the trailing suffix selects the output configuration, not the distance. The title and specification here follow the label on the part.

What is printed on the part and the box:
Sensor barrel label: PEPPERL+FUCHS / 3RG6013-3AG00-PF / 559703 / UB: DC 20…30 V / sd: 20…130 cm, with a terminal diagram showing L+, NC(S), Y1 and L-. Carton label: the same part number and P+F internal number 559703, quantity 1, plus a second panel reading SIEMENS SONAR-BERO, SIEMENS 3RG6013-3AG00, date code 04/09/13. The original Pepperl+Fuchs “ULTRASONIC SENSORS M30” Betriebsanleitung / Operating instructions leaflet is present and is included with the sale.

The part-number story, and why it matters for sourcing:
The 3RG6xxx numbers are Siemens Sonar-BERO ordering numbers. Siemens sourced that ultrasonic range from Pepperl+Fuchs; when Siemens discontinued Sonar-BERO, P+F continued to supply the identical sensors under the same 3RG6 numbers with a -PF suffix appended. So 3RG6013-3AG00 (Siemens) and 3RG6013-3AG00-PF (Pepperl+Fuchs) are the same sensor. If your machine documentation, spares list or Siemens ET catalogue calls for a Sonar-BERO 3RG6013-3AG00, this is the part – and it is one of the few remaining routes to it, because both the Siemens number and much of the -PF continuation range are now obsolete.

What an ultrasonic sensor buys you over a photoelectric:
Ultrasonic sensing works on the target’s acoustic reflectivity, not its optical properties. That is the whole argument for it: clear glass and PET, black rubber, shiny metal, dusty bulk material, foam and liquid surfaces all read reliably, where a photoelectric either sees through them or gets blinded. The cost is a minimum distance – the transducer needs time to stop ringing before it can listen, which is why the near limit here is 200 mm rather than zero. Anything closer than 200 mm sits in the blind zone and will not be detected.

Electrical and installation notes:
Supply 20-30 V DC. A nominal 24 V DC rail is fine; a 12 V or 15 V supply is not – note this differs from some siblings in the family that accept 12-30 V.Output. The body diagram marks a normally-closed switching output (NC). Confirm the exact output logic (PNP or NPN, and whether one or two outputs are fitted) against the included P+F operating-instructions leaflet before wiring – the leaflet is the authority for this specific suffix and it ships in the box.Y1 synchronisation input. This is the feature people overlook and then wish they had. Two or more ultrasonic sensors aimed into the same space will hear each other’s echoes and chatter. Tying the Y1 terminals together makes them fire in a co-ordinated sequence so they stop cross-talking – essential on multi-lane conveyors or bank-of-sensors level applications.Mounting. M30 x 1.5 threaded stainless barrel with the transducer face at the sensing end; jam nuts and a lock washer are visible on the barrel as photographed. Because sound reflects, aim the sensor square to a flat target and keep it away from parallel guarding that can produce a false echo.Temperature. Ultrasonic time-of-flight varies with air temperature. If your process swings widely, expect the switch point to drift unless the sensor’s temperature compensation covers your range – check the leaflet.

Quantity and what is included:
One sensor, its original Pepperl+Fuchs carton and the original M30 ultrasonic operating-instructions leaflet, exactly as photographed. Mating cable, bracket and additional jam nuts are not included.

Interchange guidance:
Same-envelope alternates are the other 3RG6013-3A*00-PF variants (which differ only in output configuration) and the modern P+F UB series M30 ultrasonic sensors – but the modern parts use an M12 connector and different output arrangements, so a swap means re-terminating and re-teaching. Within Siemens documentation look for Sonar-BERO, 3RG60, 3RG6013 and the 3RG6 series generally.
