Product Description

What this part is

A GE Fanuc Series One I/O Link Remote module, IC610CCM111 — the receiver half of a Series One remote I/O link. It sits in a remote Series One I/O rack and communicates back to a matching Link Local module fitted at the CPU end, so that a rack of I/O can be located away from the processor and wired to the machine locally instead of dragging every field wire back to the panel.

It is a communications module, not a CPU and not an I/O module: it has no processor to run a ladder program and no input or output points of its own. Documented in GE Fanuc manual GEK-90507, Series One Remote I/O.

Decoding the order code

IC – GE Fanuc Automation industrial controls prefix.610 – the Series One PLC family. Every IC610 number belongs to Series One; the neighbouring GE Fanuc platforms have their own groups — IC600 is Series Six, IC630 is Series Three, IC693 is Series 90-30 and IC697 is Series 90-70. None of them interchange.CCM – the module class: communications and computer-interface modules. Series One I/O modules by contrast carry MDL, and CPUs carry CPU.111 – the specific module, here the I/O Link Remote (receiver) end. The complementary Link Local module at the CPU end is IC610CCM110 — a different number and not a substitute.E – the hardware revision letter. A revision suffix, not a different product; revisions of the same base number are normally interchangeable.

What these specs mean in practice

A remote I/O link needs both ends, and this is one end. The commonest mistake with these modules is buying two of the same number: two Remotes will never talk to each other. You need an IC610CCM110 Link Local at the processor and an IC610CCM111 Link Remote at each remote rack. Check which end of your link has failed before ordering.

Series One is a fully legacy platform, so plan the whole link as a set: the remote rack, its power supply, the link cable and the I/O modules all have to be Series One parts. Nothing from Series Three, Series Six or the Series 90 families will substitute.

What is not included

Module only. This listing does not include the matching IC610CCM110 Link Local module, the Series One CPU, the local or remote rack or base, the rack power supply, the link cable between local and remote ends or its terminating hardware, any I/O modules, terminal blocks or connector kits, field wiring, mounting hardware, a programmer or Logicmaster software, or any documentation or ladder program. Both ends of the link and the interconnecting cable are needed for a working remote I/O system, and only one end is supplied here.

Quantity and configuration

Sold as 1 piece — one Link Remote module.

Installation and setup notes

Power down the rack before inserting or removing the module. Handle it by the edges with a wrist strap. Set the remote station address before installation if your link runs more than one remote rack, and make sure no two remotes share an address. Route the link cable away from motor leads and drive output cabling — a legacy serial I/O link is the first thing to suffer from drive-induced noise, and intermittent remote-rack faults are far more often a cabling problem than a module problem. Verify the link status indicators come up healthy at both ends before trusting the I/O.

Interchange guidance

Searchable equivalents of the same part: IC610CCM111E, IC610CCM111, IC610-CCM-111, IC610 CCM 111, IC610CCM111-E. Other revision letters of IC610CCM111 are the same module at a different revision. IC610CCM110 is the Link Local module and is not an interchange — it is the other end of the same link. IC610CCM105 is a different Series One communications module again.

Correcting the source data

Earlier copy described this as a PLC input/output module of Japanese manufacture. It is a GE Fanuc Automation Series One communications module with no I/O points, and no country of origin is claimed here because neither the carton nor the manufacturer supports one.
