What these specs mean in practice

A base Series 15 with a 9 inch monochrome CRT does not need this card. The graphic board is fitted on larger FS-15 controls with colour CRTs and multi-axis configurations, and on machines where the graphics, tool path check or waveform diagnostic options were ordered. That means two things when you buy: if your control has never had a graphic board, adding one usually also needs the corresponding option to be enabled in the CNC, and if you are replacing a failed one, symptoms are typically a blank or garbled colour display while the control itself is still alive and alarming normally. Edition is worth matching — Series 15 peripheral cards are edition-sensitive.

Installation and setup notes

Power down and discharge the cabinet, and observe ESD precautions. Note the slot position and any jumper or DIP settings on the outgoing card. Check that the graphic option is enabled in the CNC parameters and that the CRT fitted to the machine is the colour unit this card expects; driving a monochrome 9 inch CRT from a colour graphic card is not a supported combination. Verify the display on power-up before running a cycle.

Edition variants such as /08C and /15C share the order code; distributors also list this card under graphics board, colour graphic board and OIT board.
