Chesterton 442 split mechanical seal sized for a 1.750 in shaft. The seal is split into halves so it installs around the shaft without removing the pump or equipment from service for teardown. Typical equipment: large pumps, vertical pumps and horizontal split case pumps.

Metal Parts: EN 1.4401 (316 stainless steel). Springs: Elgiloy. Face options in the 442 range: carbon, reaction-bonded silicon carbide, chrome oxide. Elastomer options: FKM, EPDM, FEPM, FFKM.
Ball-and-socket split O-rings seal the halves without adhesive, and captive screws stay in the seal during assembly.
