What this part is

Siemens SIMODRIVE feed module from the 6SC61-series drive family — the axis inverter that powers a machine-tool feed axis. It draws 600 VDC from the drive group’s common DC link and inverts it to a three-phase variable-voltage, variable-frequency output for the servo motor. Mains rectification and charging of the 600 V link are handled by a separate supply / infeed module in the same group. The 60/120 A rating on the label is an output figure.

Rating and output range

60 A continuous with 120 A peak gives two-to-one overload headroom. A milling or turning axis runs well under rated current through a cut and draws the peak figure for the acceleration and reversal at each end of it.

The 0–300 Hz output range carries a servo motor from creep feed to full rapid without a gear change. The 0–490 V output ceiling corresponds to the 600 V DC link the module sits on. At approximately 15 kg it is a two-hand lift on a vertical rail.
