A single-row imperial tapered roller bearing cup — the outer race of a two-piece TS single-row tapered bearing, carrying the tapered raceway that the rollers run against. Cup only; the inner ring and roller assembly is a separate cone.

A cup carries the load path from the rollers into the housing, so the housing bore fit and the squareness of the seating shoulder set how the raceway is loaded. The raceway angle ground into the cup and the roller path in its matched cone are cut as a pair, which is what makes a tapered roller bearing an assembly of two specified halves rather than two interchangeable rings. Cup width is the axial dimension of the outer ring alone and is smaller than the overall assembly width of the mounted bearing.
One cup, sold individually. Single row, straight outer diameter, no flange.
The cup presses into the housing bore against its shoulder, driven on the backface with a flat tool bearing on the whole ring so the raceway is not distorted. Setting to endplay or preload happens after both halves are in place.
