A single unit 222-series double-row spherical roller bearing in the ISO 22224 envelope — 120 mm bore, 215 mm outside diameter, 58 mm width. Two rows of barrel rollers run on a common spherical outer-ring raceway, so the inner ring, rollers and cage can swivel inside the outer ring. That is what separates this family from a cylindrical roller bearing: it carries very high radial load and takes static and dynamic misalignment at the same time, where a cylindrical roller bearing edge-loads its rollers and fails early under the same shaft deflection.

Correcting the source data

The previous listing claimed the bearing was made in the United States. FAG is a Schaeffler brand with European and Asian production; nothing on this part or in FAG’s published data supports a USA origin claim, so it has been removed. eBay-era shipping and contact boilerplate has also been stripped.

What these specs mean in practice

W33 only pays for itself if the housing actually feeds it. Mounted in a plain bore with no lubrication port lined up to the groove, the feature is inert — useful only as a future relubrication path if the housing is later drilled.A brass MB cage is the choice when the bearing sees vibration, reversing load or heat. It is also heavier and generally not the low-cost option, which is why MB and polyamide-cage siblings are priced and specified differently even though the envelope is identical.Normal clearance assumes a normal interference fit on the shaft and a normal housing fit. Same-envelope alternates exist across brands — SKF 22224, NTN 22224, Timken 22224, Rollway/Regal Rexnord 22224 MB W33, NSK 22224 — but only the cage execution and clearance class make them functionally equivalent. An MB brass-cage bearing and a polyamide-cage bearing are not drop-in equals in a hot or shock-loaded position. Do not substitute a 232-series bearing (for example 23224): the 232 series is wider in the same bore and carries more load, but it will not fit a housing machined for a 222.
