What this part is

A FAG 22207-E1-XL-TVPB-C3 double-row spherical roller bearing, 35 mm bore, 72 mm outside diameter, 23 mm wide. Two rows of barrel-shaped rollers run on a common spherical outer raceway, so the inner ring, rollers and cage swivel as an assembly within the outer ring. That gives the bearing static and dynamic misalignment capacity and a high radial rating, with thrust capacity in both axial directions.

Decoding the designation

In the FAG scheme 222 is the ISO dimension series for the double-row spherical roller family and 07 is the bore code, giving 35 mm at five millimetres per unit. What these specs mean in practice

C3 clearance is the choice where the inner ring runs hotter than the outer, or where an interference fit on the shaft closes clearance down in service; it trades a little radial rigidity for room to expand. The polyamide cage is light and quiet and tolerates shock and momentary lubrication starvation better than pressed steel, and its practical continuous ceiling is 120 °C, above which the brass-caged E1A variant is the design path. Fitting notes

Lubrication reaches the rollers from the housing sump or from a feed at the outer ring side face, since this variant has no W33 outer-ring groove.

Interchange guidance

The ISO base number is 22207, so a 22207 E C3 or 22207 EK-equivalent straight-bore double-row spherical roller of the same width from another maker is a genuine interchange. The 22207-E1A-XL-TVPB-C3 and 22207-E1-XL-K-TVPB-C3 are related sizes rather than substitutions: the first changes the cage material and with it the speed and temperature envelope, the second is a 1:12 taper bore requiring an adapter sleeve. A 22207-E1-XL-TVPB with no clearance suffix is CN clearance, which is a different fit class.
