| Additional Attributes | Carton marking reads: 207SZZC / STEEL / C3 / ABEC-1, lot code 167C. Wide 27 mm section shares the 72 mm outside diameter of the 207 envelope but is 10 mm wider than the standard 17 mm 207SZZ. |

The 207SZZC is a double-sealed ball bearing with a 35 mm bore and 72 mm outside diameter, in a 27 mm WIDE section.
Read that width carefully, because it is the single most important thing on this page. The plain 207SZZ is 35 x 72 x 17 mm — the ordinary 6207 envelope. This part, with the trailing C, is 35 x 72 x 27 mm: same bore, same outside diameter, ten millimetres wider. If you order on the base number alone and your housing is machined for a 17 mm section, the bearing will not fit between the shoulders. Measure the pocket before you buy.
Suffix decode, and here is where MRC breaks the industry rule: on MRC bearings ZZ denotes RUBBER CONTACT SEALS on both sides. Almost every other manufacturer uses ZZ or 2Z for non-contact metal shields and RS or 2RS for rubber seals. Do not decode this one from convention — the correct ISO-style cross-reference for the closure is 2RS, never 2Z. The photographs confirm it: the seals are visibly dark grey elastomer, not bright steel shields.
The carton confirms the build: steel cage, C3 internal clearance and ABEC-1 (normal) precision.
A contact rubber seal keeps fine dust and water out far better than a shield, which is what you want in washdown, dusty, outdoor or splash duty. The price you pay is a little seal drag and a lower speed ceiling than an open or shielded bearing, so it is the wrong choice for a high-speed spindle and the right choice for a fan, pump or conveyor pulley that lives outdoors.
C3 is looser than standard clearance, which is what you specify when the inner ring will run hot relative to the outer, or when you are mounting with an interference fit that would otherwise squeeze the running clearance out of the bearing. On a motor or a hot pump end, C3 is a feature, not a compromise.
Sold as one bearing.
MRC (Marlin Rockwell) is now part of SKF, so current replacements cross to SKF numbering. Also written 207-S-ZZ-C, 207 SZZ C and 207SZZ-C3.
