An MRC 217SZZ single-row deep groove ball bearing — 85 mm bore, 150 mm outside diameter, 28 mm wide, with contact rubber seals on both faces.
217S — MRC’s single-row deep groove ball bearing, 200 series, 85 mm bore; the same envelope as an ISO 6217
ZZ — on MRC, rubber seals. MRC’s ZZ code denotes contact rubber seals, where most other manufacturers use ZZ for metal shields
Doubled code — both faces closed, one seal per side
No clearance suffix — CN, normal radial internal clearance
A deep groove ball bearing takes radial load with moderate thrust in either direction and runs at higher speed than any roller type of the same size. Contact rubber seals rub on the inner ring shoulder, so they exclude water and dust far better than a non-contact shield and hold grease in for the life of the fill; the trade is a little more running torque and a lower speed ceiling than the shielded version of the same size. Sealing both faces makes the bearing a closed, grease-filled unit for a housing with no lubrication port.
Bore: 85 mm
Outside diameter: 150 mm
Width: 28 mm
Rows: 1
Rolling element: ball
Closure: contact rubber seal on each face (two seals)
Internal clearance: CN, normal
Lubrication: grease filled, sealed for life
Axial capacity: both directions, moderate
1 Pc. Complete sealed bearing — inner ring, outer ring, ball complement, cage and two rubber seals.
The ISO base number is 6217 and the sealed form reads 6217-2RS across brands: SKF 6217-2RS1, NSK 6217DDU, FAG 6217-2RSR and NTN 6217LLU are the same 85 × 150 × 28 mm size with contact seals on both faces. A 6217-2Z or 6217ZZ from those brands is metal-shielded, not sealed, so it is a related size rather than an equivalent. An open 6217 or MRC 5217M has no closure at all.
