A Fanuc alpha series Servo Amplifier Module (SVM), single axis, designated SVM1-20. It is the power stage that drives one AC servo axis on a CNC machine tool. It takes rectified DC on the shared DC link bus from a Fanuc Power Supply Module (PSM), inverts it to three-phase PWM output for the motor, and receives its torque and velocity commands digitally over the fibre-optic FSSB serial servo bus from the CNC axis card. It is not a stand-alone drive and it is not a power supply — it has no rectifier and no mains input of its own.

The 20 in SVM1-20 is a current class, not a horsepower. Match the amplifier class to the motor Fanuc specifies for the axis — an SVM1-20 is the standard pairing for mid-size alpha motors such as the alpha 6 / alpha 12 range on a feed axis. Because the module is FSSB, it will only talk to a control whose axis card is FSSB-capable; it will not drive from the older serial (Type A / Type B) interface amplifiers’ cabling, and the axis order on the FSSB chain is set in CNC parameters, not by wiring position.
This listing is for one single-axis SVM1-20 amplifier module only.
No Power Supply Module (PSM) or DC link bus bars / jumper links. No FSSB fibre-optic cables (COP10A / COP10B). No motor power cable, no feedback cable, no connector or terminal kit. No battery or absolute-encoder backup battery unit. No spindle amplifier module. No braking resistor or regenerative discharge unit. No mounting hardware or manuals.
Fit the module on the same DC link as the PSM and observe the module order Fanuc specifies for the cabinet — the DC link bars are sized per position. After fitting, set the FSSB axis assignment and amplifier current parameters in the CNC and run servo tuning; a swapped amplifier that is electrically correct will still alarm if the parameters still describe the old current class. Confirm the motor and amplifier pairing before power-up.
A06B-6096-H102 and A06B6096H102 are the same order code written with and without hyphens. The -H102#HR variant is the same module supplied with a heat-sink / rear-mount option and is not always a direct bolt-in swap. A06B-6096-H103, -H104 and -H106 are the same series in higher current classes — related sizes, not substitutes. The earlier A06B-6079 and A06B-6089 SVM modules serve the same purpose but use different command interfaces and are not interchangeable with an FSSB installation.
