A Dodge Tigear-2 right-angle worm gear speed reducer in the 3.00 in centre-distance frame, 7:1 nominal ratio, with a NEMA 180TC C-face motor input and a left-hand solid output shaft. The worm set turns the drive through 90° and reduces speed while multiplying torque, the standard arrangement on conveyors, augers, mixers and packaging drives where the motor sits at right angles to the driven shaft.
Tigear-2 numbers read left to right as centre distance, input style, ratio, output shaft, motor frame. 30: 3.00 in centre distance, the gear case size and the figure that fixes the mounting footprint. A: C-face motor-mount input build. 07: 7:1 nominal reduction. L: solid output shaft on the left-hand side as viewed from the input. 18: NEMA 180TC motor flange.
Centre distance, not ratio, sets the torque class. A 3.00 in Tigear-2 is substantially stronger than the 2.6 in or 2.3 in frames at the same ratio, and the housings are not interchangeable.
7:1 is a low ratio for a worm box. Low-ratio worm sets are the efficient end of the range and are generally not self-locking.
The 180TC C-face input is a hard interface: only a 180TC motor bolts to it. It is not a solid-input shaft version and does not accept a 140TC or 210TC motor.
L is the output shaft hand. An R-coded unit of the same size is a mirror build.

The unit is factory filled and sealed for a specified mounting position, and the correct oil level differs between mounting positions. Shock loads and frequent starts wear worm gearing far faster than steady running.
30A07R18 is the same reducer with the output shaft on the opposite hand. 30 series units at other ratios share the housing and mounting but not the output speed. 26 and 23 series Tigear-2 reducers are smaller centre distances, related sizes rather than substitutes. Quill-input builds (Q in the code, for example 20Q15R56) mount a motor differently and are not interchangeable with an A-code C-face unit.
