This is one ELB TSC-401 machine control circuit board — a plug-in printed circuit assembly from an ELB machine control cabinet, most commonly found in ELB surface- and profile-grinding machines. It is a board-level spare, not a complete controller and not a drive: it plugs into a card rack that provides its backplane power and interconnect.
TSC-401 — the ELB board designation, also written TSC401 and TSC 401. This is the number to match against your machine’s card-rack schedule.
BM-38793 — the assembly / drawing number silkscreened on the PCB. Boards are frequently catalogued and searched under this number instead of the TSC designation, so both are worth searching.
On card-rack machine controls, slot position and card revision decide whether a board works. The TSC-401 is a keyed, edge-connector card — it will physically seat in its designated slot only, so confirm the card schedule on the rack door before ordering. Because ELB boards were built in small batches with running changes, compare the component layout and the BM-38793 revision on the board you are replacing against the photographs before committing.
One board ships. No card rack, no backplane, no mating edge connector, no ribbon cabling and no documentation are included. If your rack slot is empty rather than holding a failed card, you will also need the rack-side connector and harness, which are machine specific.
Power down and lock out the cabinet before extraction — card-rack controls of this generation hold a charge in the rack power supply for tens of seconds. Handle the board by its edges and its extraction handle; the TSC-401 carries static-sensitive logic with no conformal coating on the connector fingers. Clean the gold fingers with isopropanol and a lint-free wipe rather than an abrasive, and reseat the neighbouring cards while the rack is open, because intermittent faults on this generation of control are more often a dirty edge connector than a dead board.
Searched as TSC-401, TSC401, TSC 401, ELB TSC-401 and BM-38793 / BM38793. ELB TSC-series boards are long out of production and are supported through surplus stock and third-party board-repair houses rather than the factory, so a known-good spare on the shelf is the usual strategy for keeping an ELB grinder in service. Buy as a direct swap for a TSC-401, or as a repair-exchange core.
