An MRC 7407PJDU single-row angular contact ball bearing, 35 mm bore, 100 mm outside diameter, 25 mm width, straight bore, open on both faces. The raceways are offset so the ball load line runs at an angle to the radial plane, letting the bearing carry a radial load together with a thrust load in one direction. The ring faces are ground for duplex mounting, so two bearings butt together as a preloaded set.
MRC numbers this family 74xx, where 74 is the heavy angular contact dimension series and 07 is the bore code, giving 35 mm. DU is MRC’s duplex designation, the faces universally ground so a pair butts to a controlled offset. The PJ, BRZ#3 and H501 elements do not resolve to published MRC suffix meanings; they are carried as searchable designations rather than as specifications.
MRC ground its 7000-series angular contact bearings at a nominal 29° contact angle. That value sits between the 15° of a high-speed light-thrust design and the 40° of a heavy-thrust one: at 29° the bearing carries considerably more axial load than a 15° bearing of the same envelope, and runs to a higher speed limit than a 40° one. Because the angle sets how a duplex pair preloads and how axial load divides between rows, the MRC 29° reading and an ISO 7407 B at 40° are not the same bearing.
A 35 mm bore against a 100 mm outside diameter is an unusually deep radial section — the 74 series is the heavy angular contact family, where the ring thickness and ball size are raised well above the 72 series at the same bore. That buys load capacity and stiffness at the cost of speed capability and mass.
Bearing only, open, no shields and no seals. No spacers, locknuts, lockwashers or shaft and housing hardware.
An angular contact bearing takes thrust in one direction only, so the wide face of the outer ring is the thrust-taking face and its orientation on the shaft fixes the direction of axial support. In a duplex mounting the ground faces are butted without shims, and the arrangement chosen — back to back for rigidity against moment loads, face to face for tolerance of misalignment, tandem for doubled one-way thrust — sets the resulting preload.
7407PJDU, 7407 PJ DU and 7407PJ are the same designation written three ways. A 7407 B in the SKF or FAG scheme shares the 35 x 100 x 25 mm envelope but is ground at 40°, which makes it a related size rather than an interchange: swapping contact angle changes the axial rating, the preload developed in a pair and the speed limit. MRC 7407SU is the single-mount grind of the same bearing and is also a related part, since the SU and DU grinds are mutually exclusive.
