Product Description

What this part is

SNFA EX65-7CE1DUM super-precision angular contact ball bearing, supplied as a universally ground duplex set of two. Bore 65 mm, outside diameter 100 mm, width 18 mm per bearing. Open on both faces, phenolic window cage, chrome bearing steel rings and balls. The ISO equivalent base number is 7013.

Decoding the designation

In the SNFA EX scheme the bore code 65 gives the 65 mm bore. The 7 is the precision class, ABEC 7 / ISO P4. The CE describes the high-speed super-precision execution with a phenolic outer-land-riding cage. The trailing 1 carries the contact angle at 15°. DUM is a universal duplex pairing at medium preload.

What these specs mean in practice

A 15° contact angle favours speed and radial stiffness over thrust capacity, which is why it is the standard choice for machine tool spindles and high-speed ball screw and grinding applications. A 25° angle in the same envelope carries more thrust and less speed. Dynamic load rating 44.5 kN, static load rating 40 kN, limiting speed 9,500 rpm. The phenolic cage is light and runs well at speed with oil-air or grease lubrication, with a practical upper temperature around 120 °C.

Quantity and configuration

Two bearings, universally ground so the pair can be arranged back-to-back, face-to-face or in tandem, taking up medium preload in any of those arrangements. Because the set is preloaded, it carries no radial internal clearance value.

Fitting notes

Straight bore, mounted on an interference fit shaft seat with the outer rings located in a bored housing. Universally ground faces mean the two rings are matched at the factory; the pair is kept together as a unit. Preload is generated by the ground offset, so no shim stack is required.

Interchange guidance

Same-specification equivalents at 15° and P4 in this envelope are the SKF 7013 ACD/P4A DGB and the FAG B7013-C-T-P4S-DUM. A 7013 in a 25° execution shares the 65 x 100 x 18 mm envelope but is a related size rather than an interchange, as the contact angle changes the load split and preload behaviour.
