What this is
A Timken 33895-903A1 tapered roller bearing assembly — the complete bearing, cone and cup together, 2.1250 in bore and 3.7500 in cup outside diameter. The cone is stamped 33895 and the cup 33821, and the two arrive banded together in a Timken steel strap because they are a factory-matched pair, not two parts that happen to fit. A matched assembly is measured and paired at the factory so the stack-up falls inside a specified bench setting; the setting tag riding under the band on this one is marked +2 and +5.
This is also a precision assembly rather than standard tolerance. The carton is printed PRECISION and both rings carry the *3 class mark alongside SET 18-6, the group the factory matched them in. That buys tighter runout and bore and outside-diameter tolerances than a standard-class bearing of the same number — which matters where the shaft position has to stay put under load.
Original Timken carton, still wrapped in the factory paper and banded, never installed. Made in U.S.A.
How the part number breaks down
33895 — the cone number: the inner ring with its rollers and cage already assembled.
903A1 — Timken’s assembly suffix. A 9-prefixed suffix means a factory-matched set rather than a loose component, and the digits after it identify which combination: in this case cone 33895 with cup 33821, matched and banded.
*3 — the precision class mark on each ring.
SET 18-6 — the factory matching group stamped on both rings, which is what ties this particular cone to this particular cup.
As with all Timken inch tapered numbers, the digits are a catalog index and do not decode to dimensions — the sizes are listed below rather than derived. The same pairing is also catalogued as 33895/33821 and 33895-33821.
