What this part is:
A Pepperl+Fuchs HiD2030 SMART Transmitter Power Supply — a two-channel intrinsically safe isolated barrier from the HiD system. It provides a fully floating supply to 2-wire SMART transmitters located in a hazardous area and repeats their 4 to 20 mA current into a safe-area load, so the control system sees an isolated signal. It also works with 2-wire current sources, and can be wired as a signal splitter taking one input and driving two outputs.
Correcting the source data:
Pepperl+Fuchs classifies this module as a SMART Transmitter Power Supply and 2-channel isolated barrier, not simply an analog input repeater. That distinction matters when you specify it: it supplies the transmitter as well as repeating the signal, and its purpose is intrinsic-safety isolation between a hazardous-area field device and a safe-area input. If what you need is only a signal repeater on a safe-area circuit, this is more device than the job requires — and if what you need is Ex isolation, a plain repeater will not do.
Decoding the designation:
HiD – Pepperl+Fuchs HiD system, termination-board mounted modules for large process installations2030 – two-channel SMART transmitter power supply with line fault detection121495 – Pepperl+Fuchs order/part number for the HiD2030; HiD2030SK (121500) is the related variant
What these specs mean in practice:
Three things decide whether this drops into your system. First, it is bus powered through a HiD Termination Board, not through terminals on the module — there is no DIN rail option and no direct 24 V connection on the module itself. Second, HART pass-through works on channel 1 only; channel 2 carries the analog value but not the digital signal, and the current-sink terminals 4/7 and 5/6 do not pass HART to the safe area at all. Third, the field transmitter sees a minimum of 14.7 V at 20 mA, which is the number to check against your transmitter’s lift-off voltage before committing. Line fault detection flags an input outside 0.2 to 24 mA on a shared open-collector fault bus, so the fault signal is collective across both channels rather than per channel.

Quantity and configuration:
Sold as 1 piece — the module only. The HiD Termination Board is not included and is required: the module has no independent power or field terminals and cannot be mounted on DIN rail. A Fault Indication Board, if you want the fault bus monitored, is also separate.
Installation and setup notes:
To change the output between 4 to 20 mA and 1 to 5 V, push the red Quick Lok bars on each side of the module upward, lift it off the termination board and set all four DIP switches: all OFF for current output, all ON for voltage output. The coding pins are trimmed to match this module’s safety parameters and must not be altered — that is what stops a module with different Ex parameters being plugged into the same slot. Where HART access matters, plan the loop so the smart device sits on channel 1.
Interchange guidance:
HiD and K-System modules are not interchangeable: a KFD2-STC series barrier mounts on 35 mm DIN rail with its own terminals, while the HiD2030 needs a termination board, so the two are different installation systems entirely even where the signal function matches. HiD2030SK is the closely related variant and carries its own part number and coding; check the coding pins and the termination board slot before assuming it fits. HiD2029 and HiD2032 are neighbouring modules in the same family with different channel counts and functions.
