FANUCA86L-0050-0028/43A86L-Prefix Bought-In Unit, Variant 43 — Also Marked CP-03209, New Old Stock (Identity Not Documented)

Condition: New – Open box
Condition Note: Made In Japan, New Old Stock

Availability:

1 in stock

Fanuc A86L-0050-0028/43, carrying the secondary marking CP-03209. A86L is Fanuc’s prefix for bought-in components and sub-assemblies rather than Fanuc-designed circuit boards, so this is very likely an outside supplier’s part carried under a Fanuc number — CP-03209 being that supplier’s own designation. We have found no Fanuc or supplier document stating what it is, and the previous “Circuit Board” description is not corroborated, so we claim neither a function nor a host control. One unit, new old stock. Photographs are the specification here — use them, and ask us for more.

Manufacturer StatusFanuc Corporation remains in business. Fanuc America or the machine builder can identify an A86L number from a machine serial number — that is the authoritative route. Legacy CNC trade (MRO Electric, FanucWorld, Radwell) handles A86L parts.
Arrangement ConfigurationSupplied as the single item shown — no host assembly, board, rack or enclosure, no cabling or mating connectors, no mounting hardware, no documentation
Additional AttributesIDENTITY NOT DOCUMENTED. No Fanuc document, repair-house database or distributor listing for A86L-0050-0028 could be found. The prior "Circuit Board" description was an unsupported assumption and has been withdrawn. WHAT THE PREFIX MEANS: A86L is NOT one of Fanuc's circuit-board prefixes — Fanuc PCBs use A16B, A17B and A20B. A86L is the prefix for BOUGHT-IN components and sub-assemblies carried under a Fanuc number so machine builders can order them as Fanuc spares (display units, backlights, fans, batteries and similar). The strong probability is therefore that this is an outside supplier's product under a Fanuc number, and a component or unit rather than a Fanuc-designed control board. CP-03209 is almost certainly the original supplier's own designation and is the most promising identification route. All of this is reasoning from the numbering scheme, not a specification. To identify it: check your machine's parts list or maintenance manual, where A86L numbers appear against the assembly they belong to; or search CP-03209 rather than the Fanuc number. Tell us what you find and we will publish it with the source credited. The nine photographs on this listing are the specification; ask for closer views of the label, connectors or reverse face, or for measurements. Not established and blank: what the item is, function, host control or assembly, electrical ratings, dimensions, weight, connector type.

Product Description

What this part is — and the limits of what we can tell you:
A Fanuc-numbered unit, A86L-0050-0028, revision or variant /43, additionally marked CP-03209. One unit, new old stock, made in Japan.

We are going to be straight with you about this one, because we could not identify it and we are not going to pretend otherwise. No Fanuc document, no repair-house database and no distributor listing we could find states what A86L-0050-0028 is. Our previous copy called it a “Circuit Board” and said it was “designed for industrial use” — the first was an assumption and the second means nothing, so both are gone.

What the two numbers do tell you

The prefix is the informative part, and it is worth explaining because it is genuinely useful.

A86L — this is not one of Fanuc’s circuit-board prefixes. Fanuc’s own PCB numbering runs on A16B, A17B and A20B. The A86L prefix is used on bought-in components and sub-assemblies — parts Fanuc buys from outside suppliers and carries under its own number so a machine builder can order them as Fanuc spares. Display units, backlights, fans, batteries and similar items sit in this prefix group. So the strong probability is that this is an outside supplier’s product wearing a Fanuc part number, and that it is a component or unit rather than a Fanuc-designed control board.CP-03209 — almost certainly the original supplier’s own part number, marked on the item alongside the Fanuc number. That pairing is the normal pattern on A86L parts and it is the most promising route to identification: a CP- prefix is a component maker’s designation, not a Fanuc one./43 — a Fanuc revision or variant suffix. Record it and match it; Fanuc suffixes are not always cosmetic.
We are labelling all of that as reasoning from the numbering scheme, not as a specification. It narrows the field — it does not close it — and we would rather give you the reasoning than a confident label we cannot support.

The photographs are the datasheet

Since no document exists that we can point you at, the nine photographs on this listing are the specification for this item. They show the unit, its labelling and its connections. If you are trying to match a failed part on a machine, comparing your item against these images is the most reliable identification available today — and if you need a closer view of the label, the connectors, the reverse face or a dimension, ask us and we will photograph and measure the actual unit. We would rather answer that question properly than fill this page with plausible-sounding text.

How to identify it from your end

Two routes are likely to work, and both are cheap:

Your machine’s parts list or maintenance manual. A86L numbers appear in Fanuc spare-parts lists against the assembly they belong to, so if your machine documentation carries A86L-0050-0028 it will also tell you what it is and where it fits.Search the CP-03209 number rather than the Fanuc one. Because CP-03209 is the supplier’s designation, it may be catalogued by the original component maker or its distributors under a description Fanuc never published.
If either route gives you an answer, tell us and we will publish it on this page with the source credited. That is a standing offer on every part we cannot pin down.

Condition and what is not included

New old stock, made in Japan, in open-box condition — it has not been in service, which on a component of this age is a real advantage: no thermal cycling, no coolant exposure, no repair history. Supplied as the single item shown. Not included: any host assembly, board, rack or enclosure it fits into, cabling and mating connectors, mounting hardware, and any documentation.

Interchange guidance

Search forms include A86L-0050-0028/43, A86L-0050-0028, A86L00500028, A86L 0050 0028, A86L-0050-0028-43, CP-03209, CP03209 and CP 03209. All of them are on this page deliberately, because a buyer holding only the supplier’s CP- number needs to find the Fanuc number and the reverse is equally true.

Fanuc Corporation remains in business, and Fanuc America or your machine builder can identify an A86L number from a machine serial number — that is the authoritative route and it costs a phone call. For sourcing, the legacy CNC trade (MRO Electric, FanucWorld, Radwell) handles A86L parts and holds documentation that is not public. One unit in stock.
