What these specs mean in practice

Two single-row bearings separated by a ground cup spacer make a two-row mounting whose row spacing, and therefore its setting, is fixed by the spacer rather than by shimming in the housing. That gives a repeatable end play and thrust capacity in both directions, with the bearing spread carrying moment load. Because the cups are separate rings rather than one double cup, the two rows can be pressed into a through-bored housing from either end. Fitting notes
