A FAG KHM220149 tapered roller bearing cone — the inner ring complete with its roller set and cage, from the HM220149/HM220110 single–row tapered roller bearing. Bore is 3.936 in (99.974 mm), nominally 3–15/16 in, and the inner ring is 1.654 in (41.999 mm) wide. Sold as 1 Pc.
One cone per order — 1 Pc. This is the cone only. The mating cup is not included. A tapered roller bearing is a two–piece bearing: the cone carries the rollers, the cup is the separate outer race they run on. The cup for this cone is the HM220110 — 6.1801 in (156.975 mm) outside diameter, 34 mm wide. Without it the cone cannot run. If your existing cup is still good and only the cone is worn, this is exactly the part you want; if you are rebuilding the whole position, order the cup as well.
K — the FAG prefix for a tapered roller bearing cone, that is the inner ring assembly on its own.
HM220149 — the industry–standard cone number for this size. Every maker uses the same digits, so an HM220149 from one brand and another are the same part.
HM220110 — the matching cup number. The HM2201 family shares the roller and raceway geometry, which is why the cone and cup numbers run in pairs.
Tapered roller bearings carry heavy radial and heavy one–direction thrust at the same time, because the rollers and both raceways converge on a common apex. That is why they run in opposed pairs: each bearing takes thrust one way, and the pair together locates the shaft and lets you set the running clearance or preload by adjusting the nut.
Two consequences follow. First, cone and cup are a matched pair by geometry, not by serial number — you can mix brands on the same numbers, but you must never mix a cone from one size family with a cup from another. Second, on a rebuild it is normal and sensible to replace both. If you reuse a cup, inspect the raceway for spalling and for a wear step at the large end of the roller path, because a fresh cone running on a stepped cup will fail early.

Press the cone onto the shaft against its backface and never through the rollers. Press the cup into the housing squarely and fully to its shoulder — a cocked cup is the most common cause of a rebuilt taper bearing running hot. Then set the pair: back off the adjusting nut and rotate the shaft to seat the rollers before making the final setting, because rollers that have not seated will read as clearance you do not actually have. Follow the machine builder’s endplay or preload spec; taper bearings are far less forgiving of a guessed setting than a ball bearing is.
HM220149 is an industry–standard cone number, so Timken HM220149, FAG KHM220149, SKF HM220149, Koyo HM220149 and NTN 4T–HM220149 are the same cone on the same envelope and all mate with an HM220110 cup. Some catalogues abbreviate the assembly as HM220149/10 or HM 220149/10 — same bearing. Do not substitute an HM220149 cone against a cup from a different family: the numbers pair for a reason, and a mismatched cup gives the wrong contact geometry even where the diameters look close.
