A Timken JP11049P/JP11019HR single-row tapered roller bearing assembly, supplied as a matched cone and cup under Timken assembly designation 90C01. The cone is the JP11049P inner ring with its roller and cage set; the cup is the JP11019HR outer race. Bore is 110 mm and cup outside diameter is 170 mm. This is a metric JP-series bearing, dimensioned and toleranced to the metric scheme throughout.
JP is Timken’s metric tapered roller series; the 11 in JP11049 and JP11019 is the bore step, giving the 110 mm shaft seat. The 049 suffix identifies the cone and 019 the cup, so a JP11049 always mates to a JP11019 cup within the series. The 90C01 code is Timken’s assembly number for the cone-and-cup pair as furnished together. Class C is the Timken metric precision grade, one step above the standard Class K and Class N grades.
Class C tightens assembly radial run-out to 7 microns against 40 microns for standard Class K and Class N, and holds cone bore and cup outside diameter to minus 15 microns rather than minus 20. Class C parts also carry a high point of radial run-out marking, which allows run-out to be indexed against the shaft or housing at assembly to cancel rather than compound error. That buys shaft position accuracy and quieter running, and it is why this grade appears on gearbox input shafts, machine tool spindles and precision drive pinions.
Tapered roller geometry places the roller axis at an angle to the bearing axis, so radial and axial load share the same raceway contact and the bearing carries heavy combined loading in one direction. Two assemblies opposed on the same shaft locate it axially in both directions and can be set to a defined clearance or preload.
One complete assembly — one JP11049P cone and one JP11019HR cup. Cone width is 35 mm and cup width 27 mm. New old stock, opened carton.
Cone and cup backface “to clear” radii are both 2.5 mm, so shaft and housing fillets must clear that figure. Cup frontface backing diameter is 161 mm and cone frontface backing diameter is 120 mm; these are the abutment diameters a shoulder or spacer face must respect to bear on the ring and not on the roller path. Effective centre location is –4.8 mm from the assembly reference face, which is the point to use when calculating induced radial load from an opposed pair.
Cone and cup are matched within the JP11049 / JP11019 pairing and the raceway angle is common to that pair. Sibling JP-series numbers describe other bore steps: JP10049/JP10010 is the 100 mm bore assembly and JP12049/JP12010 the 120 mm, both related sizes rather than substitutes. A Class K or Class N JP11049/JP11019 shares the same envelope and load capacity but a looser tolerance grade, so it is a related precision variant.
