A single-row angular contact ball bearing in the 70-series light dimension range, bore 80 mm, outside diameter 125 mm, width 22 mm. It carries radial load together with axial load in one direction, and takes its axial capacity from the raised shoulder on one side of each race.

A 15° contact angle sits at the high-speed, low-thrust end of the angular contact range. It carries less axial load than a 25° or 40° bearing of the same envelope and runs cooler and faster at a given preload, which is why 15° is the usual choice for spindles and gearbox positions where speed governs.
Single-row angular contact bearings locate a shaft in one axial direction only. Two of them mounted back-to-back, face-to-face or in tandem set the axial position and the preload of the assembly.

The wide shoulder face of each race takes the thrust, so ring orientation sets the direction of axial support. Mounting proceeds against a square, rigid shoulder, with the fit applied to the ring that rotates and load applied through the ring being pressed, never through the balls.
The ISO base number 7016 C describes an 80 x 125 x 22 mm 15° single-row angular contact bearing across brands: FAG 7016C, NSK 7016C, NTN 7016C, RHP 7016C. Same-envelope bearings with a different angle letter — 7016 AC at 25°, 7016 B at 40° — are related sizes rather than interchanges, since contact angle changes thrust capacity, speed and preload behaviour.
