An RHP 7212CTDULP4 super precision angular contact ball bearing set, supplied as a universally matchable duplex pair. Bore 60 mm, outside diameter 110 mm, width 22 mm per bearing, giving 44 mm of total width across the mounted pair. One row of balls per bearing, open on both faces, with a machined laminated phenolic cage guided on the outer ring.
This carton carries three designation schemes for the same bearing, which agree with one another. In the RHP scheme, 7212-C-T-DUL-P4 reads as a 15° contact angle from the C, a machined laminated phenolic cage from the T, a universally matchable duplex pair at light preload from DUL, and ABEC 7 precision from P4. In the RHP B-series scheme, 7212-X2-TA-DU-EP7 gives the 15° angle from X2 and the ABEC 7 class from EP7. The Fafnir equivalent 2MM212-WI-CR-DUL confirms the same 15° angle through its 2MM prefix.
A 15° contact angle sits at the high-speed, lower-thrust end of the angular contact range. It carries less axial load than a 25° or 40° bearing on the same envelope, and in exchange it runs faster and cooler, which is why 15° is standard for machine tool spindles and grinding heads. The laminated phenolic cage is light and quiet, tolerates oil mist and jet lubrication, and being outer-ring guided it stays stable at speed. ABEC 7 holds radial and axial runout to super precision limits. Dynamic capacity is 66.3 kN and static capacity 55 kN, with a limiting speed of 9,000 rpm.
Two bearings, supplied as a matched universal set. Universal matchability means the pair reaches its specified light preload when clamped together in back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem arrangement, with no shims or ground spacers required. Light preload favours speed and low heat generation over maximum stiffness. Being preloaded, the set carries no radial internal clearance value.
The bore is straight and mounts directly onto a cylindrical shaft seat, with no taper and no adapter sleeve. Preload comes from the ground ring faces of the matched pair, so both rings are clamped solidly against the shaft shoulder and the housing abutment. Laminated phenolic cages absorb moisture, so the set is best left in its sealed carton until fitting.
Equivalents on the same envelope, angle, class and preload are SKF 7212 CD/P4ADGA, NSK 7212CTYDULP4, Fafnir 2MM212-WI-CR-DUL and Barden 212HDL. The Fafnir 2MM212 number covers the same 60 x 110 x 22 mm envelope, so it is a genuine interchange rather than a related size. A 7212 in the same envelope with a 25° angle, marked E in the RHP scheme or 3MM in the Fafnir scheme, is a related size with different thrust and speed behaviour.
