A single-row MRC 7315DU angular contact ball bearing: 75 mm bore, 160 mm OD, 37 mm wide. The rings are universally ground, so the bearing can run on its own or be stacked with identical bearings to form a duplex, triplex or quad set without a ground spacer. The 7300 medium series is the heavy-duty end of the angular contact range at this bore, and typically sits on pump, blower, compressor and gearbox shafts that see high radial load together with substantial thrust.
7315 — ISO angular contact envelope, medium series, 75 x 160 x 37 mm.
MRC 7000-series contact angle is 29° — MRC uses its own scheme, so this is not the 25° or 40° of other makers’ 7300 numbers.
DU — universally ground for duplex mounting.
29° is a genuinely different angle from the 25° that most catalogues assume for a 7300-series bearing, and it matters: contact angle sets the split between radial and axial capacity and controls how the axial load is shared in a paired arrangement. An MRC 29° bearing and another maker’s 25° or 40° bearing of the same number do not share load in a matched set. Universally ground rings are what make stacking possible; the ground offsets produce the intended preload automatically.
Bore: 75 mm.
Outside diameter: 160 mm.
Width: 37 mm.
Contact angle: 29° (MRC scheme).
Series: 7300, medium.
Rows: single.
Ring grinding: universal, for duplex mounting.
Closure: open.
Cage: machined bronze.
Dynamic load rating: 121 kN / 27202 lbf.
Static load rating: 93.1 kN / 20929 lbf.
Limiting speed: 6300 rpm.
Precision rating: ABEC 1 / P0.
Mass: 6.80 lbs.
One bearing. Mounted alone it takes thrust in one direction only. Two mounted back-to-back (DB) or face-to-face (DF) locate the shaft axially in both directions; two or three in tandem (DT) carry heavy thrust in one direction. Because the rings are universally ground, any of those arrangements works without a matched spacer.
Same-specification alternatives are other MRC 7315DU / 7315D universally ground singles, and the 7315DU, 7315 DU and 7315-DU forms of this number. Related but NOT interchangeable: an SKF 7315 ACD (25°) or a 7315B (40°) is a different contact angle and will not share load with this bearing in a set; a plain 7315 without DU is not universally ground and cannot be stacked. MRC was absorbed by SKF via TRW, so MRC-marked cartons and SKF-era part numbers both appear on this bearing.
